Stopped in here during a visit to Topeka but since my sister lives there she's a more frequent visitor. They have good coffee and the overall look and ambiance is also good. We had planned to have a light meal there after an appointment I had that ended after 5:00. Online it said they were open until 10:00, when we got there we found out it was only until 8:00. That was fine, as I didn't want to be too late driving back to Overland Park. However, there's no mention on their website regarding the fact that they no longer serve food, other than what's in their pastry case, after 4:00. 😞 Definitely pertinent information that should be on the website. So we had a choice of one kind of quiche for our meal. The quiche was okay but it got warmed up by microwave and so parts of it were initially quite warm and most of it was cold. Some quiche I can do cold this didn't happen to be one that I enjoyed that way. It was okay but pricey for the size you got and nothing memorable about it. The single staff person that was there was nice but did not go out of her way to really engage. That's kind of a highly desirable quality for coffee shop staff in my opinion. So overall I would certainly go back again, but not expecting anything other than coffee drinks or tea.

It's a nice little coffee shop & bar tucked in with the student apartments. The food menu was fairly limited on the website and Facebook page. I was pleasantly surprised to see a wider variety on their large digital menu. I enjoyed a Strawberry Swiss Roll, and my boyfriend ordered the Southwest Breakfast Burrito, as well as two Vietnamese lattes with Cinnamon. The pastry is massive and filling. What a whimsical treat! The burrito doesn't look like much, but my boyfriend stated just how filling it was. The salsa provided has a nice touch of cilantro. The atmosphere is very cozy while still maintaining a modern design. The art displayed is very unique and has a very personal touch. I assume the works are made by Washburn students and/or the staff. A large digital display of their menu makes it easy to read while in line. *** I would love to see their selection of syrup flavors on the board, which would help a smoother ordering experience*** The pastry displays are delightful and offer pastries that other coffee shops do not have.

My boyfriend and I were visiting from Lawrence, KS. We wanted a shop that was open later into the day despite it being a Sunday. Our first impression was that the store was so perfectly articulated. The furniture choices, the power outlets, and the open space and decorations made us feel so happy that we found Coffee Bar. One thing, as a fellow plant parent, I noticed was that the owner Able was so gentle and generous with the plants that made the space feel welcoming. We spoke about his plants, and the entire few hours my boyfriend and I were there, Able made sure that we were comfortable. The only thing we were a little surprised by was the price for an order of espresso, and the price of a quad shot espresso order. My boyfriend is an avid espresso drinker, so although it was more than we were used to the quality of PT’s Coffee was well worth it. Best customer service we have received in a while, our names were remembered and we were cared for so well. Thank you, Able!

Very nice, clean and pleasant place with friendly service. Excellent coffee, though I haven't tried the food yet. So glad its only a few blocks away. Great hours too. We needed this!

12.03.22: So, with out of state guests visiting, I decided to take 'em to Coffee Bar for a late lunch when I finally had a chance to taste some food items on the menu. Wow, it was a grand slam! Texas toast and croissant breakfast sandwiches, and biscuit and sausage w/gravy were all awesome! An upside-down pineapple cupcake (yum) rounded out the visit. As usual the coffee was superb. The only downside was our order somehow got sidetracked which made for a little extra wait time (but the ever-observant owner was quick to make it all good).

Again, this place rocks. It's clean, comfortable and convenient. We're lucky to have Coffee Bar in the Central Park Neighborhood. They have a great selection of sandwiches and coffee –all day!

EDIT: 02/11/24: I found a partially used gift card in my wallet, so I stopped by and put it to good use by picking up a Buffalo Quesadilla as a takeout order yesterday afternoon. As usual, and like everything else at Coffee Bar, it was awesome. Great service by a young (ginger) lady who was the perfect server. Lucky to have this place in the...
