Happy Celiac’s Disease awareness month!
“An immune reaction to eating gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. Over time, the immune reaction to eating gluten creates inflammation that damages the small intestine's lining, leading to medical complications. It also prevents absorption of some nutrients (malabsorption).” -Mayo Clinic
Anyone who lives or visits Topeka with celiacs or gluten sensitivity must be informed about the beautiful selections at Henry T's Topeka. I was blown away when Hire and Krysta told me all the options. They have GF buns and breads for all the sandwiches and burgers. They have GF breading. I REPEAT THEY HAVE GF BREADING. This means chicken strips and nuggets, chicken fried chicken, fried fish, fried wings! They obviously have GF fryers (which is a huge deal, cross contamination sucks). GF pizza, and waffles for chicken and waffles and waffle sundaes. I am forced to cook 99.9% of my meals at home because most people don’t know what gluten is so eating out is always a gamble. A bar with this much selection and this much awareness made me so happy and I will be eating there every single time I am in Topeka.

Read moreEveryone in Topeka rants and raves about how great this place is. I am convinced that Topekans have no clue what good service and food are. I have been here three times in four years and every time the experience has been terrible. The worst service and food imaginable. The first visit back in fall of 2012 my friend and I were seated and never talked to a waitress or any staff again. We sat there and, waited for over 45 mins. The only reason we waited that long was to see just how long it would take for them to remember / notice us. Needless to say, they never did and probably never would have. The second time, while visiting Topeka in 2013 I found hair in my food. And just last week I went in there while visiting a friend in Lovely Topeka Kansas and I was served coleslaw with a plastic bag corner in it. And let's not forget the broken plastic cup I was served my iced tea in that slowly leaked all over the table. This place sucks bad. I can only imagine the people rating this restaurant anything above one star either own the place or have never been to a real restaurant that provides quality food and service. Get a clue dummies, you are being ripped off at Henery T '...
Read moreSo. Much. LOVE!!!!! We are visiting friends in Topeka, and didn't know where to eat. We tried Henry T's since we'd never been, and it was phenomenal! My husband and 3 year old loved their burgers, waffle fries, and homemade chips. They have a variety of high chairs which made it so much easier to feed my 11 month old. I'm diet-controlled diabetic, and found LOTS of options for me. I had the chopped Cobb topped with sirloin tips and honey sriracha dressing on the side (YUM)!!! The prices were extremely reasonable for the incredible portions. They are GF friendly, noting so on their menus (which isn't a need in my family, but very considerate). Best of all was our waitress, Alexis. That girl gave us such an incredible experience. I often feel needy with my chaotic little family, but she didn't treat us that way at all. Even though she was busy, she was friendly, personable, and she answered all my questions honestly without feeling rushed. I could tell she enjoys her job, and helped make our experience a great one (eating out with 2 littles is often a nightmare). I don't often leave 5 star reviews. We will definitely be coming back to Henry T's!! Thank you for doing...
