We ate here tonight (2-1-25) and I just had to jump on and leave a review. Normally if a place is just kind of so so I'm not compelled to review it but when a place either makes me really happy or really irritated I do.
First let me say the food here is good. I like their Cashew Chicken and my wife likes their Drunken Noodles. My issue is not necessarily with the food but with their service. The servers were nice, but this place is VERY SLOW TO GET YOU YOUR FOOD ORDER! People were trying to be patient as they waited, but you could tell some were getting upset.
If you are in a hurry, forget about going here. This restaurant has evidently changed owners since it was Ahann Thai. Food tastes similar, but they are painfully slow, and service was awkward. We had 4 adults at our table. The server brought out two meals...then a wait...then one more meal...them a long wait...then finally the last order came out. Not very professional in my opinion. We almost got up and walked out before...
Read moreThai Table is a very difficult restaurant for me to rank. The service and atmosphere are always perfectly impeccable, with extremely friendly service, clean silverware and fresh ice water at each table, and fresh wontons as a free starter. The chef at this place takes extreme pride in his work and strives to serve perfectly, and has his Thai flavors on point. With that said, I don't usually like the food here, and I have tried it many times. My family loves this place and we eat here frequently. My critiques of this place are that whatever meat I select for my meal always seems overcooked and tough with no velveting or browning, and when you select your spicy level, they add the chili after cooking instead of adding it in before cooking, so you just get a lot of raw chili flakes in your food. Even though I usually don't like the food here, I ranked it 3* because they always have good specials available, and the Thai basil mojito is to die for, so both of those things get...
Read moreMy first time visiting, I was looking for some papaya salad, sticky rice, and chicken wings. They only have sticky rice. I was surprised to see Pho as a special, ended up ordering it, glad they gave options on level of hotness, it came out to my liking. As for the Pho, it didn't taste like the authentic pho I usually have in Lawrence or Kansas City, I was looking for the star anise. Cinnamon, clove profile in the broth, it tasted more like Tom yum. Not bad, but I was looking for pho flavors, we ordered the sticky rice with mango, oh my, that was very good, the Thai tea was also creamy and tasty. Service was slow, it wasn't busy, nonetheless it was a good experience will be back to try...
