IHOP — Restaurant in Topeka

Most of these high star ratings are from the employees to flood my comment out. Take that part is for what it is. However, my intent is to inform on my experience, that being a very poor one. Temperature, flavor, the timeliness of waiting for food after ordering, then not even bringing the full order out- so by time others are done eating your just getting your food. This place and/or food just wasn't it.

Most likely not returning - wouldn’t recommend it either, at least not this ihop. The energy seems great, I really think the leadership treats their staff well based off the body language, but overall organization of the team seemed poor. Some of the staff were not professional. Our waitress got our order wrong twice, I think she’s new. I can shed grace on that. But the part appalling was the error in our order and then being charged for it when it was un-eaten. Requested to take this off, they handed me a ticket that appeared to have it taken off, but according to my bank account they charged me the full amount. The senior waiter / manager (in tshirt, shorter Caucasian male with forearm tattoo) was at the register behind us completing / removing these things, however we could hear him express his frustration and thats just embarrassing and poor customer service/professionalism. If the food tasted goof, MAYBE would have gotten 2 stars. I dont know, Maybe others had a better experience. Just...

I have attempted eating at this IHOP 3 times now. Every time I have been there they can't seem to get it right. I ordered the little bit of everything breakfast each time. The servers and cooks are not familiar with the menu. That dish was supposed to come with 2 pancakes and one French toast. I received the plant of eggs meats and hash browns but had to ask where the other items were. Our original waitress went back and asked the cooks. They had to prepare more pancakes. A second waitress brought the pancakes out so I asked where the French toast was. That waitress went back and asked the cooks. They had to make the one piece of French toast which I requested togo at this point as we had been there for 1 hour and 45 min just attempting to get the dish i ordered and at that point had already paid for. We were the only customers in the building when we ordered but it still took 40 mins for them to take our order then another 45 waiting on our food then the rest of the time was waiting for the whole dish to show up. We never saw our original waitress again. No we were not rude, even left a tip which I didn't feel was deserved. This is how it has gone every time we stop there to eat. After trying this location a few times after it opened, I vowed to never return. Service was always bad, food questionable, and cleanliness lacking. I hadn't been here in over a year but received some coupons in the mail this week. The coupons advertised that the location was under new management. I decided to take a chance and see if they really had made any changes. I went in with very low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. There was no one at the front door to greet and seat customers but that was literally the only thing that wasn't great. Once we were seated our drink order was taken right away. Our waitress took our food order and we received our food within about 15 minutes or less. Everything was exactly as ordered and tasted great.

The new manager checked in on us as well as all the tables around us. All the wait staff seemed to be working well together and the manager was communicating with everyone. By the time we left it was getting busier than I had ever seen this location. I hope this restaurant can continue to turn things around and not be the embarrassment it has been pretty much...
