Pad Restaurant — Restaurant in Topeka

UPDATE:Went back because that were the boy wanted to go. It was an improvement from the last time. Hopefully they have come around to the pad I loved as a kid. Shakes are still awesome.

This was unfortunately the worst meal I have had there my entire life. I have been eating there since the old building was still there. I took my boys in tonight to eat for boys night out. First the French fries weren’t even full French fries. The pieces were very small about the size of a quarter. Second the onion rings were not even hot just warm. Third the burger I got pad style and it had enough cheese to choke you. I don’t remember having that much cheese on them. It was a big pile of shredded cheese along with two large slices of cheese. The restaurant had tables everywhere that weren’t cleaned the bathroom was not cleaned either. When they did finally start to clean up the girl didn’t even sweep she just started mopping. She was just pushing the food around with the mop. I didn’t say anything to anyone I was just so disappointed that I had to get out of there. I have been going there for over 30 years I grew up on that food. Unfortunately when ownership switched in the family it seemed to go south. It kind of made a comeback but has went down again. I will probably never eat there again unless it changes owners or makes drastic improvements. So if you decide to go just be prepared for inconsistency. The gal working in the drive-thru window lane (shorter blonde hair if I remember correctly—I’m getting old…Lol) is not able or should I say not willing to follow a simple customer’s request. She is the worst drive-up assistant in all of Topeka! No smile from her whatsoever! Extremely unpleasant and terrible employee who intentionally chose not to honor a customer’s request! What a B___h! Mumbles and not a spec of a smile on her face! And to top it all off, she lied to me when I again asked if there was ketchup in the sack! She replied yes, but no ketchup found when I got home to eat. She simply chose not to follow a customer’s request for ketchup. I’m sure other customers make the same request many times throughout the business hours. Not just once but twice (when I placed my order and when I picked up my order at the drive-up window). To my face! I’ve worked in Management in the Professional work world for many years. If one of my employees acted like she did tonight, I would have had the supervisor fire her on the spot! No second or third chance! She’d be gone even if it meant I had to finish her shift myself for the remainder of the day/night! I hope a manager follows up and even fires her as she obviously does not want to work and serve a customer! And I was a pleasant...

Update 7/15/22 BEST taco salad! Hot perfectly seasoned taco meat (similar to Tortilla Jack’s! 😍), fresh, cold, crispy lettuce, fresh tomatoes, plentiful cheese, chips, sour cream & salsa! I wish you had this salad available everyday! Love it!

Oh my goodness! THE.BEST.HOMEMADE.VEGETABLE.BEEF soup EVER!! If you like a tomato based style of veggie beef soup with a few tomatoes, big chunks of potatos & carrots, tender chunks of roast beef, cabbage, onion and peas- you will love this soup. The veggies were perfect- not mush and not hard. It is the perfect thickness- a little thicker than broth and not as thick as a true thick stew. It was close to perfection! They sell it every night in 12oz, 24, 32 and 48 oz containers. I had the 24oz- it was a big styrofoam container and only $5.89. Good-bye Jason’s Deli to go! How did I not know...
