Cute little place to sit, terrible coffee. Okay, if you don't care that much about coffee it might be okay, but for true coffee lovers I'll elaborate. I ordered a cortado and my wife ordered a latte. Right away I noticed they use super automatics for pulling shots, so we are not off to a good start. The roast seemed to be good on both drinks, but it was really hard to tell due to the fact that both were under extracted, and the milk was burned. If I had to guess they also don't use treated water. Thankfully neither drink tasted like the coffee was oxidized, but that hardly made up for the aweful other problems. The latte was so bad you could barely even taste the coffee flavor. Almost as bad as hot watery milk. I was really hoping for a quality coffee in Topeka, but yet again I am disappointed in Americas inability to produce good quality...

The new shop is even closer to my in-laws than the College Hill location which is really nice. I was tempted to leave off one star because the music when I was working there was pretty annoying... Southern Gospel interspersed with cheesy smooth jazz... a little weird in a modern coffee shop, but I suppose some of their patrons might love it.
