Skinny's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Topeka

As an out of town visitor the description was exactly what I was looking for, a great local sports bar to watch the Thursday night NFL game. When I got there the game was on plenty of TV's with available seating, almost perfect. The table service was VERY slow. The waitress was more into eating her snack than waiting on tables. Here is the real kicker, with 2 minutes left in the game with the outcome on the line, the DJ fired up the DJ booth and turned the volume off on the game for Karaoke Night. You think they could have waited a few more minutes on the music until the game was over. Very disappointed and with only 2 minutes to go, there was not enough time to relocate or pick another place. Not "REALLY" a sports bar.... Typical Dive bar with bad service that happens to have a lot of TV's...They should drop the "Sports"...

I went to Skinny‘s July 12 to listen to a live band that I really like. There was a cover charge, which I expected to pay. But when the bouncer looked at my drivers license and said my middle name out loud and started laughing at me, I was so disappointed in the professionalism of the staff. This continued at the bar when I bought a drink and was charged $4 and when I went back, a different bartender charged me $6 for the same exact drink. I’m not sure why some of the staff were so inconsistent and unprofessional, but it is disappointing. On top of that, I watched the doorman let people in without obviously paying but charge most others. Overall, the bar did not even create a dance floor for the live band. Foods great from what I smell while I'm in there but haven't had the chance to try it yet honestly. Service is prompt and drinks have never been left empty but I give a 4 star because the bartenders are a little over eager. I play darts in the back and it's like every 5 minutes and asking if I need another drink it feels like. And I give a 3 star for atmosphere merely because the weekend nights can get kind of obnoxious with immature drunks meanwhile there's a 20yo door man with the only sole purpose is to ID at a certain time and worry 100% about the outside and If you're inside underage before they get there they don't come in to enforce anything lmao.
