BlueSalt Fish Grill has a wide variety of selections. Today, I ordered a garden salad with Chipotle-cilantro butter Salmon. The salmon was tender and flavorful, and the salad has a light balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The dressing amount was just right; just a hint of flavor and it paired well with the butter sauce I picked.
You get a number after you order to place at your table. The food arrived quite fast even though it was the lunch hour when I visited.
They provided hand sanitizer by the door before you enter which I thought it was nice.
BlueSalt also offered disposable gloves next to the drink station. I really like this nice touch they added for their customers.
The only thing I wish is could be better is the space between the tables in the middle row. The two seaters don't have a lot of room in between. It is understandable for the layout of the restaurant and this way they can fit more people in. Pre-Covid is definitely not a problem. Just FYI, if you prefer more spacing between tables, try not to pick the area in the middle. They also have 3 or 4 patio tables outside, and the ones against the windows or walls are nice.
My friend & I were eyeing the food served at the table right outside of our window area. I already have a few more dishes that I definitely want to try. ( steamed baby clams , wait for me!)
Oh.. one last thing, I didn't see the pricing for the grilled seafood but on the menu it did say "*Ask sever for availability & pricing".
BlueSalt Fish Grill is goes under my definitely will return bookmark!
Update This is my third time visiting the Blue Salt Fish Grill. The service has always being great! The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The food is also great. I have always ordered the same thing, the garden salad with salmon. The garden salad’s dressing default with balsamic vinaigrette, however, it was very oily.
I asked for ranch instead and I was told the second dressing will cost money. I did tell the server that the dressing was very oily and he was able to accommodate which I really appreciate it.
I just need to make sure to switch the dressing...
Read moreExcellent prices for seafood. I ordered the fishermans basket which is generously portioned for $17. This included battered fish, shrimp, calamari, crab cake, scallops, hush puppy, coleslaw, and fries. The plate was served with three sauces which were more than enough for the meal.
First up, the calamari was a surprising delight! Lightly fried with excellent seasoning. I could pop these all day and not get tired of them. Easily a 9/10.
Next up was the crab cake. It was moist, nicely seasoned, and a good size. On its own its a solid 6/10. But with a bit of cocktail sauce it seems to unlock some extra layer of flavor and goes to 7/10.
The battered fish was the next item I tried. These look like the standard battered fish fillets you can find at restaurants anywhere with a long trapezoidal plank look. The batter was crisp with a nice hint of beer to it. And the texture of the fish was moist and flaky. Overall they struck me as a bit bland though. High marks for the quality, but brought down by the seeming lack of flavor. I'll give these a 6/10.
The shrimp were a little disappointing. They were good size, butterflied and fried. But again flavor seemed to be lacking. They were butterflied so thin that it felt more like I was eating fried batter than shrimp. The cocktail sauce did a lot of heavy lifting here, but that only gets the shrimp to a 4/10 for me.
The scallops were another surprise. Decently sized, just as flaky as the fish, and with a bit more flavor too. Easy to recommend these. 7/10.
The coleslaw was exactly what a good seafood place should serve. Fresh, not sliced too thin. Responsible amount of dressing without being to creamy or dry. It paired well with the rest of the plate. Easy 8/10 from me.
I will definitely be back to try some of their grilled dishes. From what I can tell those should be a nice step up from the...
Read moreWhen in the mood for grilled fish, BlueSalt Fish Grill is where I go!
Each time that I have eaten there, my whitefish was delectable and cooked to perfection; the fish was flaky, juicy, and so flavourful with the Cajun Garlic Butter, my usual seasoning. No matter what side I ordered along with my brown rice with quinoa and pecans, they always complemented the fish very well.
The music was a tad loud for my taste, hence the four stars, but the fun 80's music was nostalgic and took me back to my youth.
I was quite impressed with the staff last week. They were young but clearly understood the importance of providing excellent customer service. They were friendly and very helpful, patiently answering any questions that I had regarding the food or desserts.
Because of that, I ordered dessert for the first time during this last visit. All of the options were enticing and looked scrumptious, but I settled on the carrot cake loaded with toasted almonds which, startlingly, was the best that I have ever tasted.
Well done and keep up the great work, BlueSalt Fish Grill. I am already looking forward to...
