This popular upscale dim sum chain finally opened up in the South Bay. The manager said they have only opened for a week. So far so good, there are still a few kinks to work out but we think it’s pretty good.
Pluses: Good quality ingredients and recipe. With simple siu mai, spare ribs, and chicken feet, you can tell they don’t sacrifice quality Good decor and ambiance, outdoor seating looked nice but was closed on the Tuesday noon when we visited book ahead on Yelp a few unique items like tofu no push carts, order online, they come out hot, 1-2 items at a time, online ordering gives opportunities to customize sauces (like add XO for additional charge) though the staffs were all new, they were helpful and friendly
Minus: pricer than other nearby places like Szechwan the food presentation was basic, not on par with the ingredients and price trash/dirty dishes near our table, they just drop dishes into it and made sudden loud noises, several times during our meal. This is not on par with the upscale feel they are projecting even with a good selection, not all the traditional items are available so check to make sure you are not...
Read moreI liked the original location in Alhambra, so I was glad they open another location closer to me. However, the food quality and the service are not up to par with the original location. First, my food was barely warm and I expected it to be hot then I saw through the kitchen windows that the kitchen people were microwaving the food which is fine since busy restaurants have to pre-cook some food then reheat them during busy service time so customers don’t leave from waiting too long, but someone should check the temperature to make sure the food was hot since your charging me nearly $200 for the whole meal! Second, I came early morning so it was not busy at all, but the host didn’t notice me and she didn’t even look up from the POS screen and I was standing there for 6 minutes and no other staff came over and I wanted to leave but it took me 20 minutes to drive there, so then I got tired of their inattentiveness and asked “Where can I seat?” then she said anywhere without even looking up which was so rude! For a $200 meal, I expected hot food and good service! Manager please check your food quality and your staff...
Read moreFood was not bad and food came out fast. But service was horrible! One server tossed one dim sum steamer plate onto our table while she was staring at me (Japanese) like she had an issue with me. She walked a couple of steps away mumbling something staring at me again. She repeated this a few times. We were neglected almost entire time too. No tea nor water was brought till we asked again-10 or 15 minutes after we seated. We had to wave across the floor to get an attention from one wait staff to get what we needed. So as a check, we need to walk to one waiter to ask for a check and he immediately walked away even we had our CC in a hand and we were handing the folder back to him, saying “Here! Wait!” So we had to walk to a guy behind a counter to pay. A manager looking guy kept cleaning our table almost to try kicking us out, asking us, “Done??” while he already putting them into his cart. He didn’t offer any water or tea refill and didn’t ask anything we need or want, not bring us our check. Yep, he emptied our table right in front of us. Very rude. We will...
