I needed a quick place to stay when I learned that my apartment was uninhabitable on 12/29. I called Ramada and they were able to immediately accommodate me and I stayed from 12/29 - 12/31.
PROS
Affordable. The Ramada Torrance was one of the lower-priced hotels in Los Angeles at the time. I am satisfied with the price I paid for a budget hotel that was safe and clean.
Pet-Friendly. I had my cat with me, and because my apartment was uninhabitable, I had to bring her along. The Ramada was able to accommodate her for a fee of $30 per night, which I thought was reasonable.
Amenities. The Ramada had everything I needed and wanted at the time, including free, reliable wi-fi, a mini-fridge, and a TV with many channels. They also had a fitness room, coin-operated laundry, pool and hot tub, and free breakfast, although I did not use any of those myself.
Cleanliness. I see that some people have had issues with cleanliness at this hotel; it was not a problem for me at all. Everything looked clean and there were no bugs. I even forgot to wear shoes at one point on the hard floor and my feet came away without any markings. I would still recommend wearing slippers/shoes in the room since it's a good habit, but even when I forgot to wear them once I had no problems with marks on my feet as other people have had.
Safety. It's not the best area, but not the worst either. I felt safe walking around during the day and I felt safe in my hotel room at night aside from the window covering issue described in Cons.
CONS
Uncomfortable bed. This is the most uncomfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. I woke up multiple times in the night and started each morning in pain from the bed's hard surface. I would described it as sleeping on a slab of marble with a thin padding on top.
Off-brand furnishings. I'm not someone who needs furniture to be name brand or anything...however, it seemed like the furniture in the hotel was a hodgepodge of different origins and didn't match very well. I didn't really care except for the TV, which was a brand called Hanspree. The TV did not offer any program information or channel guide and the channels were weirdly numbered (for example, NBC was channel 47-2, BBC was 55-18, and HGTV was 66-41.) I had to spend 30 minutes going through the channels to create a channel guide, which I'll include below for others. I would recommend that the hotel provide a printed channel guide to help guests operate their TV more efficiently.
Overall, the Ramada Torrance fit well for what I needed during an emergency weekend stay. It isn't the most luxurious hotel, but it is safe and clean and that is all I really need at its price point.
My channel guide (omits channels that didn't interest me such as sports): 47-1: CBS 47-2: NBC 48-3: CW 48-4: abc 49-5: KCAL (CBS?) 49-6: FOX 50-7: My 13 52-11: PBS 53-14: A&E 53-15: Freeform 54-16: AMC 54-17: Animal Planet 55-18: BBC 56-20: Bloomberg 56-21: Bravo 57-22: CNBC 57-23: Adult Swim 58-24: CNN 58-25: CN 59-26: Discovery 59-27: Disney 59-28: truTV 60-28: E! 63-34: Food Network 65-38: FX 66-40: HLN 66-41: HGTV 67-42: History 67-43: LIfetime 68-45: MTV 69-46: National Geographic 69-47: Nick 70-48: Sci 71-50: SyFy 71-51: TBS 72-52: TLC 72-53:...

The reply...the general manager, Nicole Booth, proceed to criticize me and stated I should be the one to look for the policy. Gladly, however, how can I read the policy when its hidden? I had specifically search for it all over the website after they robbed me. Moreover, how do I know exactly what falls under the policy if its extremely vague?
I was in town for a funeral and somehow the Ramada staff managed to further ruin my week. I have never experienced such bad customer service. I was charged for a second night even though I only stayed one night and checked out in the early morning...
Whoever is reading this review, I implore you check out all the bad reviews. Notice a pattern? Save your self the embarrassment and financial hardship and just look else. LA county is filled with plenty of wonderful hotels staffed by courteous people.

Oh man where do I start... I showed up here around 2:50 pm on a Sunday for a 3 night reservation. I walked up to the window and notified a man that I had a reservation. His reply? He yelled at me "the room is not ready come back later!" Uh ok. Came back an hour later and got my room. From a different guy who was actually pretty cool and professional. When I did get the room I should not have been surprised when I walked in...
The room was musty, towels were dirty and stained, sheets were stained, bed was uncomfortable, floor was dirty, and the door did not close properly so I could hear everything happening outside. I've stayed at much nicer Motel 6s.
I was extremely tired since I had been driving for 9+ hours so I did my best to just crash for the night. I figured It would be best to just check out early and stay elsewhere. Person checking me out stated I was not allowed bro check out early without paying for the 2nd night. She referenced a 24hr policy; however, that was not written anywhere in the lobby. I asked her for a copy of the written policy and she state there was not one available... I asked her to point me to where I can find the policy and she was not able to.
So here I am being robbed of roughly $170 for an extra night. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Ramada management staff clearly does not care about their guests nor the maintenance of their facility. A shame, the Ramada used to be a...
Read moreWe had a reservation for a room with a king bed. The first room we were given was not made up. The second room we were given was in seriously poor shape. ||The king size bed was so low to the ground that the top of the bed was below our knees...and I'm only 5'7. The mattress is super soft and when you sit or lay on it you just sink in. There is no support at all. ||There is no closet or place to hang your clothes. There is a rack, but housekeeping had bags stored on top of the rack and then there was a table under the rack with an ironing board on the left of the rack...the rack was completely blocked and unusable.||The bathroom has almost no space for toiletries you might bring. There is a narrow space on each side of the sink and that's it. They do have a coffee maker jammed into the corner of the sink with two cups for coffee. There are no plastic cups to use to rinse your mouth after brushing...unless you use up your two coffee cups. There are no tissues provided...you'll have to use toilet paper. There is no place to put your clothes while in the shower. Only one tiny hook on the back of the door but we used it to hang our damp towel. The second damp towel was draped over the sink. No lid to the toilet...so you can't use that for your clothes. The mirror over the sink is the only mirror in the entire room. So...waist up is all you can see.||We did have one armchair, and one office chair. The office chair was really beat up with the leather like cover on the chair peeling off. The dresser was really badly scarred up with gouges taken out of the bottom part. ||The room does have a small fridge, microwave and a safe. The room was very clean.||The hotel's website says breakfast available, however, it costs $10 per person and you must buy a voucher from the front desk. We found it was worth the money. Cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, bagels, sweets, juices, coffee.||The website also lists an Asian restaurant. But we never found it. Not really sure if it's still there but it is shown on the marquis. ||The staff are wonderful. They really try doing the best for every customer. This hotel hasn't been updated or fixed up in over 20 years or more I'd guess. We were very disappointed in the condition of the room considered what we were charged. I can't recommend this hotel and...
