Hubby and I love Islands. The food and atmosphere is great, the service is always good. BUT, Becca's OUTSTANDING service makes this Islands famously FABULOUS! My grandma was a waitress, so was my mother, and so was I. So my hubby and I NEVER tip 20+ % out of obligation or pity. We do always tip, 10% for meh service, 15% for good service and hubby rounded up the 20% for Becca. If we weren't on a tight retirement budget, I woulda asked hubby to tip even more. She was that "PERFECT!" Becca's service was technically perfect, and her soft skills were amazing! She has young, sunshiny, optimistic energy, and a professional, warm, wonderful attitude. If I could give 10 outta 5 stars for service I would. And, on top of all that, every time we said something she answered with the sweetest, sunshiniest "perfect." I told her how awesome it was to have a young person say "perfect" every time we said something about order, drinks, special requests, etc. She said "thanks but I feel like I over use it." I told her, "not to our age range you don't. It's rare to hear a young person say "perfect" to anything our age range says. I'm not kidding." We got a heartfelt awe from her; such a sweet, gentle, energetic soul/person. We know most young people think of us as "Okay Boomer" but Becca gave us 'y'all are BOOM BABY' energy and respect! I'm not kidding that this location is now our favorite Islands and we'll be calling ahead next time to make sure Becca's working, or wait for her next shift to go! Everyone else was also smiling, nice, professional, pleasant, and respectful but Becca is over the top or whatever slang young people are using now for AMAZING! She should be training wait staff there. Becca thought of every tiny little thing that makes service exceptional. I heard her give her other tables the same over the top awesome service and care. I’m a big fan of Islands because they make turkey burgers, and the turkey is actually tasty. My last meal, pre-lockdown, was at Islands here in Torrance. Usually, this location is not my favorite Islands- I prefer the one in Manhattan Beach- but this one runs pretty close. The wait staff is almost always friendly, and the food is quick and tasty.

On our last family trip, we started with nachos. The first round came out kind of burnt, with the cheese clumped in the middle. Our waitress was great, exchanged them, and brought out some nachos that were definitely tasty. I always ask for extra jalapeños- because who doesn’t love a little spice?

Between the group, we got chicken tacos, a Greek salad, a cheeseburger and a sundae. A little hack- did you know you could sub out the beans with the tacos for refillable fries? I love French fries, so this is always my go to if I get the tacos.

Worst picking up experience ever. I order a meal yesterday (November 25th ) for 2 the girl that was in the takeout counter was very rude. I didn't even get her name but she was working at 3:40pm. She dropped one of the drink roll her eyes and didn't even bother to refill it. Then we asked if we can eat her she ignored us so we ask the guy in the front who was very kind. When we open out boxes we saw we didn't have fries. When I went back to ask for them the same girl in an angry tone responded saying we order with out fries but that's is not possible I looked back at the order and try to reorder online and it has no option for "no fries" anyways the whole thing is that she asked if we still wanted fries of course we did and they brought it to us...MIND THAT WE HAD 2 ORDERS they only brought us 1 order of fries.
