The New Red Rose Diner — Restaurant in Towanda

I was in town for work and read a review that said they had a good steak and cheese so I decided to go here. I did order the steak and cheese and waited 25 minutes before my food was served. This was on top of waiting about 10 minutes to get my order taken. Meanwhile the guy to my left who order coffee when I ordered water never got his coffee even after being asked again by the server and he eventually just left.

The steak and cheese was very good and plenty there. When my basket got placed down I was thinking that they don't give you very many fries as there were only about 10 there. Knowing I was in a hurry and figuring the sandwich would be plenty I wasn't too worried about the amount of fries. A few minutes later the server delivered another basket of fries and said they wouldn't fit in the basket with the sandwich. I told her not to bother since I knew I wouldn't eat them anyway.

Visiting Towanda PA, decided to try the local diner and order pickup. I arrived and was stared at blankly by staff, even after greeting them first (backwards customer service) stated I was there for a pickup order, where I was then told they dont offer marshmallows and to never order them for hot chocolate. Fair enough, minor nitpick, was handed my food and the lady behind the counter walked away and I had to remind her that I ordered a drink with my food as well, she sighed and got me my drink with attitude. Food was decent, silverware was not Included or offered, fries were undercooked and somehow soggy at the same time (disco fries) onion rings were also undercooked. I love diners, hate poor customer...

My wife, my mother and I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. The atmosphere and the decor of this restaurant are wonderfully unique and nostalgic. We ended up ordering breakfast items because you kno, why not? The food was very good (the Meat Lovers Omelet is a personal recommend). For anyone visiting, place your dessert orders early because they're a high-demand menu item and with good reason (the caramel apple pie is another personal recommend).
