Updating Review - Original Review can be seen at the end.

For reference I ordered 2 of the Shawarma Platter via UberEats. I was very disappointed in the food, it was flavourless and overcooked. While I may be use to a different recipe, even though I have had shawarma from many different establishment's, and many different countries (Canada, USA, Israel, Greece, England), Venus Greek & Mediterranean lacked in flavour. Traditionally Shawarma is flavoured with things like cumin, cinnamon, tumeric, paprika, cardamom, garlic and lemon. My meal had 0 flavour, and lacked any of the traditional flavour profile one would expect. The shawarma was also not served as traditionally shaved meat, this was almost like a minced meat. The rice reminded me of minute rice, white, flavourless and mushy. While you can see the Resturant has stated it’s not, I feel it’s the most accurate description of what I was received.

To the resturant, thank you for your congratulations, while I find it uncomfortable that you felt it was appropriate to include that in your response, I do appreciate the well wishes. My review edit was prompted from your response, I am not sure why you felt like you needed to include my personal stuff but hey, to each their own. But after reading the responses to other people’s reviews, I felt I should make sure my review was accurate, fair and detailed.

I did not enjoy the food, and I felt my money was wasted. Thank you for the oppurtunity to try your buisness.

Original: Food was ordered via uber eats (shawarma platter), it was disgusting, it wasn’t shawarma at all. White minute rice with flavourless chicken, barely...

First I must state that I first tried Mediterranean food at a small restaurant in Boston, Mass. From there I was hooked and being from Buffalo, had to do some research on places that serve Mediterranean around here. Ive been to every place but when I tried Venus I FELL IN LOVE. Their food is more authentic than the other places around here and I can not stress how fresh the food tastes. I would have guessed the peppers were freshly picked this morning. That's how fresh their food tastes. The garlic sauce is TO DIE FOR and everything is cooked PERFECTLY!

The inside of the place is a little eh. The shape of the restaurant may contribute to why there are not many tables and the seating is kind of weird, its more of a quick eat in or take out kind of place. Its not like a family sit and dine kind of place.

I got a job working down the street from Venus and I go there at least once a week. Their prices are definitely great. I can get a 8 inch pita wrap for $5 that keeps me full from about 12:30PM - 6PM. Today I got a 12 inch grilled chicken wrap for $7.50 and it was well worth it. It was huge!

The staff are all very friendly and you get your food in a decent amount of time. I am very self conscious about what I eat and I refuse to eat fast food like mcdonalds, wendys, or any crap like that. Venus is a great alternative for a more healthy choice lunch that is quick, delicious...

I ordered takeout from this restaurant and it was the worst Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. Everything was a bland pile of mush. The combo platter was a combination of some kind of shredded meat, but there was no way to distinguish the chicken from the gyro. The white sauce smothering everything was tasteless, including the extremely mediocre frozen fries. Also, I woke up sick in the middle of the night after eating the food. Do not order from here.

Update in response to the owner: Not true! I moved the food to a plate to reheat it because it was cold upon arrival. No mushing! You still did not address the quality of the meat or where it comes from/ why it does not look like chicken or gyro from any other mediterranean restaurant. The food may have been made to order, but it does not taste good (it had almost no taste at all) and does not live up to the standards of even the most basic local restaurants. No one paid me to write...

This is NOT a pita! The supposed "pita bread" was more like a dry, store-bought wheat tortilla. I ordered the falafel & hummus plate and was extremely disappointed. The falafel was completely bland (no salt, no spice) and soaked thoroughly with oil. The hummus was decent though too sour. The "salad" was just shredded iceberg lettuce and those really tasteless tomatoes. The physical space itself was terribly decorated, outdated, no wifi AND no water. I asked for a glass of water and they said "we only have sink water." The waitress/cook tried her best, but it's clear that the owner is out of touch with reality.

Went there for lunch and ended up spending $18 for a mixed platter and a drink. Food was just ok. Large portion, but very dry meat. They had the door fully open, in a 46 degree weather makes it pretty cold inside. All of the tables were dirty as well, place has fruit flies, one ended up landing in my plate. On top of it, there’s middle eastern music playing pretty loudly, so if you want to relax it’s not really the place. The only positive thing was a girl at the front register, she was incredibly sweet and provided amazing customer service.
