1st the food is great! Some of the best halal.... Just don't go there.
I went there for many years. I am a Christian. Progressively as time progressed the staff kept trying to convert me to Islam. Making jokes about my faith and pushing hard at the end for my conversion. I finally had to stop going.
Response to King.
I have witnesses that were there Sir. You are now lying! Employee in question is Amir. I ignored his jokes and conversion tactics many times but when he did it in front of 2 of my friends at the restaurant that was too far.
Great for delivery though.
Now I drive to Halal Hut in Stony Brook.
Second response to King.
I hope you have proof.
If you continue I will be forced to bring this to the attention of the ACLU and allow their legal staff to educate you.
Amir was also saying in Islam it is OK to have relations with a young girl as soon as they begin menstruation. As a father, this is absolutely disgusting. I have never dated anyone under age and I ask you to prove such an accusation. You are very close to receiving legal action as this is libel. I recommend you stand down. My review is honest and completely within my rights. Sorry you have inappropriate behavior from your employees. This is why is discontinued frequenting your restaurant.
I recommend no one go there even though you have good tasting food the disrespectful behavior against my faith is not something I...
Read moreWas in the area on a late Sunday evening and this was one of few restaurants that was open late. Decided to stop by and try the food. The exterior was not very inviting with a dirty street/curb/sidewalk, poorly lit parking lot, and little street lighting too. The restaurant's interior was open, spacious, and bright (well lit). Restaurant's dining area had several tables and chairs available, but appeared to be a bit dirty and had some wear and tear. Young gentleman behind the counter was friendly, promptly greeted, and then professionally answered my questions regarding some menu options. Gave my order and waited, which was not a very long wait time too. While waiting, several customers (appeared to be regulars) were walking in and just picking up their preordered meals/food to go. I had the King platter with fish, falafel, and chicken over rice. Fried fish was ok, not greasy, not dry, and flavorful. Falafel tasted a bit dry and felt dense. The chicken was good and the white sauce, too...of course. Spicy crispy chicken sliders were actually better than expected, especially for the cost. Had good flavor, enough spice and heat, and filling. Overall an ok experience with very good service, but wouldn't go out of my way to get...
Read moreMeh. Have had better food and service at other local halal places. Decided to try this place. Person on the phone who took the order was being a jerk to my husband because he claimed I ordered kebabs when I ordered the mix platter. (I asked him if they had it since the menu wasn't very clear online...it's 2019, there no reason you shouldn't have an updated online menu. He said they did and I said great I'll take two orders.) Asked for one platter to not have rice and just salad, got a ton of rice and a tiny row of just lettuce. (To be fair, the gentlemen on the phone and who spoke to my husband did tell the cook no rice, so that's on the cook. And based on another review, seems like this is the trend here.) I'm no chef, but a few shreds of lettuce is not a salad. Other places at least put some tomatoes and onions.
I will admit, the chicken was good, white sauce was good and spicy sauces had a nice kick. Lamb was a bit dry, salad was pathetic and there is way too much rice.
Overall, there is some potential, but the staff needs an attitude adjustment, better communication, and get with the times and have a better online menu! I think we'll stick with Naz's or...
