Nico’s Charred Pies! Wow! I asked my aunt, are we really going to drive 30 miles from the Bronx for pizza and beer?!!! She said yes, just wait until you try them. Boy was she right! From pulling up in the parking lot and seeing the outside of the establishment I was impressed. Classy!! Cozy outdoor seating or cool, airy indoor seating, just really tasteful decor for both families and date night! The plethora of choices of flavors of beers “Roots and Branch” were mind blowing! I tried the no. 12 Anthony the brew master, I was told, really outdid himself with that one, you have to see how the beer taps come directly out of the wall as if there’s an endless supply! ALWAYS cold, the perfect temperature! I wonder how he did that?🤔 Now let’s talk pizza! CHARRED pies! INSANE! I safely ordered a simple an original pie and was so impressed at how incredibly delicious that pizza tasted ( and I know my pizzas! ) then a gentleman by the name of Frank who works there suggested we try the “red pizza” and let me just say, game over!! Indescribably the best pizza I’ve ever had!! Every flavor danced in my mouth with that perfect char! You have got to go and experience the best of both worlds! I had to listen to my aunt say “I told you so!” all the way home, but it was...

Came here/Root + Branch on a Friday night for some lowkey pizza and craft beers. I had been wanting to try Root + Branch for a while since I moved to Suffolk and didn't realize they had a pizza place in store too, and boy do they make a good pie! We ordered the French onion, the jalapeño pepperoni and a traditional Margherita, each of them delicious in their own right, but if you're getting just one, then my favorite was the jalapeño pie. Crust is super light and crispy, but flexible, which was a pleasant surprise to the pizza folder in me that is used to these thin neapolitan style pies that break apart on me. Pair their pies with any delicious beer from the bar and you have a recipe for a great night. Service was kind and relatively quick and decent amount of seating even on a Friday night (there's even more outdoor if the weather is nice). Parking right in front is plentiful and right near the train should you choose that option. A lowkey spot to enjoy good eats and drinks, chalk me up for plenty of...

Nico's charred Pizza Pies did not disappoint. I ordered the special of the day, which was called the Brooklyn style pie. Upon delivery, I immediately noticed the char on the crust, the balanced browning on the cheese and just the right amount of fresh basil, placed throughout the pie. The crust and undercarriage were firm, just the way I like it. It was evident immediately that the ingredients used were of great quality and not cheap, fast food substitutes. The sauce had just the right amount of acidity, the mozzarella was delicious and didn't get rubbery as the pie cooled, and the charring was perfect and added just the right amount of flavor to compliment the pie. From the first bite to the last, I thoroughly...

🍕🔥😮 Have you ever had a pizza so good you had to question every slice you have eaten before? That is exactly what happened when I tried @nico’s charred pizza pies in Copiague. The pepperoni pie was loaded with tomato, Sicilian oregano, pecorino, aged mozzarella, Ezzo supreme pepperoni, grana padano, basil, and EVOO. Then I went for the red pie with double tomato, burrata, garlic, and herbs. Pure perfection. This is how pizza should look and this is how pizza should taste. Think someone can top it? Drop a comment and let me know. #Foodie #LongIsland #NewYork
