PEKING BUFFET — Restaurant in Town of Batavia

If I could give this place no stars, I would. I should've guessed this was going to be an awful experience based on the fact that we had to pay for the buffet before we were even seated. (I'm assuming they've had many people walk out during/after their meal because of how bad it was.) My boyfriend and I arrived there at 8:15pm on a Friday night, and they close at 10:30pm. (Complaints seem not to matter to them.)

As we were sitting in our booth, we made these observations:

Employees didn't wear gloves... WITNESSED EMPLOYEE SCOOP FOOD W/HAND INTO BUFFET Everything was empty or close to empty IF it was refilled, not much was added "Dinner buffet only items" were EMPTY Deserts were empty or just had crumbs Everything I got was COLD Food itself was tasteless All chicken was either dry or chewy Rice was dry and crusty Brought a half a glass of soda Dirty serving tongs Dirty plates and silverware Pizza looked like it was left from lunch Fruit was left in water and was brown Watered down hot sauce Milk for coffee was left out and was warm

The owners/employees were bickering the entire time. They seemed very rude to us whenever we interacted.

There was a couple that came in after we started eating and saw most of the food was empty and complained... again, NOTHING was done. My boyfriend and I sat there until 9:30pm because we were eating slowly in hopes fresh, hot food would be brought out. No such luck.

On top of all this, we got sick from their food. Never returning. DON'T WASTE YOUR...

Was looking for Chinese food on a Sunday in Batavia. After striking out at two other places (a dingy takeout and a dark, empty sit-down), found this one in the far corner of a shopping mall.

It was clean with a neutral smell that is a close to the next best thing to a good smell for a buffet. Inspected the dishes; the hot stuff looked hot and the cold stuff looked cold, and the trays looked recently filled.

I enjoyed the meal. It was not gourmet quality or, for that matter, strictly Chinese, but it was generally tasty Chinese-American food.

Your mileage may vary, but on this given day...

Good dishes on the buffet steamed dumplings (actually good, not those thick-skinned lumps) black pepper chicken shredded pork w/ garlic sauce chicken w/ broccoli (good sauce!) sweet and sour chicken (hard to go wrong with this, but notably good) fried shrimp (a bit crusty, but good w/ sweet/sour sauce salt/pepper shrimp (little seasoning, but still good) coconut shrimp (not very coconut, but still good) pork w/ pepper and onions (short on peppers but tasty) the dessert pastry was truly crisp and special Not recommended on the buffet: sushi (rolls only; uninspired, tired, and not flavorful) stuffed (or plain) mushrooms (seriously, why?) bourbon chicken (dry and tough) various American favorites (pizza, wings, etc)

Service was good; frequent refills on my beverage.

No wi-fi, not that I really...

Just tried to come eat with my family and walked in to a tour bus of foreigners. We still thought it would be ok as your place has been busy before and we've been able to enjoy a good meal. Finally got a table after being practically ran over 5 times trying to get to our table. Got up to the buffet and the whole buffet was wiped clean!! So my family and like 10 other people stood at the end of the buffet waiting for food to be restocked. As we got asked if we needed something, told the lady we were waiting for food. She laughed and said yep. We stood there and watched them bring out a couple new trays as they were bringing out more, the first few trays were already gone. We finally asked for our money back and left. We told them why we were leaving and they never said sorry or apologized or even offered anything for our troubles. Normally we don't have any issues, but lately we've gone in for dinner and paid the extra price cause they have crab legs to never get crab legs cause they can't keep them stocked. Today was very disappointing and absolutely uncalled for. The bus service should've called ahead and u should've warned people u couldn't keep the buffet stocked!! And to not even...
