I would agree with the other reviewer that said don’t waste your time on this store specifically. I would rather drive 45 minutes out of the way or shop at a different home improvement store than deal with the employees at this Batavia Home Depot.
My experience: I decided to redo the flooring to my home- so I online ordered enough for three rooms, I received a few damaged boxes and called the 800 Home Depot number and they sent new ones to my house and told me to dispose of the damaged one- easy peasy.
A year later I decided to do more rooms, but this order was shipped to the Batavia store instead of my house, BIG mistake. When I called and asked them to replace the damaged ones from this order, they told me that since it was shipped to the store I would need to now go through the store, no problem I thought, they can just reorder it and send it and I could resume my project in no time. NOPE, they wanted all the damaged pieces back- when I said oh I assume it’s all going to a landfill and I’m disabled so can I just throw it out - they responded with no if I couldn’t bring it it they would send someone to pick it up.
I found this a little bit weird and creepy, considering they just told me they were going to dispose of it anyway because of the damage- and could have just asked for a picture- but whatever, if they want to waste the gas so be it, I hadn’t disposed of it yet so I was happy it would just be done with.
Okay now for the bizarre part, when I called I mentioned that there was roughly an extra half a box of one that was damaged and the person from the 800 was like that’s fine we’ll just replace the box, we’re not that petty.
Batavia Home Depot is that petty 😂 The guy who came to the house to pick it up said oh no we can’t return that half box because it’s not full pieces, yeah- that’s why I said it wasn’t a full box to begin with? I told him I wanted to speak with the manager and he said I’m the manager and I say you can’t return it… I again said, but it’s going to a landfill and you can see the damage of what’s left in the box, right? I’m not trying to give you undamaged pieces and I wasn’t being dishonest because I told you ahead of time it wasn’t a totally unused box. He’s like yeah, but I’m the manager and I’m saying you can’t return it so I’ll just leave it here.
The cherry on top was when the manager called to let me know he refunded the full boxes, and not to worry, he waived the restocking fee- 😂 who needs to waive the restocking fee when it’s damaged products that are being returned? Obviously there shouldn’t be a fee for not keeping damaged products…
It was just a bizarre experience all around and I would recommend that they rethink who they give manager positions to if they care at all about exemplary customer service. I wish I could be more proud of this store in Batavia because there is a lot of great stuff in this city and it would be nice to shop at the local Home Depot too, but until they up their standards, I’m going to shop other places and suggest others who care about customer service and not wasting time...
Read moreI ordered a new refrigerator from them. It was to be delivered on December 9th. When they showed up. The guy came in to get the old fridge and measured it and said he couldn't deliver my fridge and wS going to have to reschedule as he lost his impact drill and could not take the doors off. I said no you're not leaving. My daughter lives 4 minutes away and I'm sure she has one . While he timed her apparently and said 4 minutes was up and they were leaving. I told him she has to get the drill get her coat on and to her car. He still sId they were leaving. I hD frozen meat on my deck which would go bad well my daughter showed up while I was talking to their boss and she had wanted them to leave also. They got the doors off took the old fridge out. Then took one door off new and said it wouldn't fit unless basically someone took off storm door. I said I would. He said we're leaving I asked him to take off second door and he refused. He said you can return it and we'll take it back or I leave hit here. Right in front of my open door. I said I needed it . My fridge went shot on Thanksgiving. While what a hassle. I'm a 70 years old widow and thank God for my daughters who helped me get it in and all set up. I couldn't have done it myself. I would give them negative stars if I could. It was the guys fault for losing his tool and not replacing it. Horrible...

So like any chain of hardware stores, this Home Depot has anything and everything you need. BUT (and it's a big but), good luck finding it. Nothing is organized by where it should be, which would be fine, if there were any employees around to ask where it was located. I mean, I'm not hard to please, but I shouldn't have to reenact the chase scene from Fast & Furious just to try to nail down an employee to ask them a question. But hey, I understand the employes have social lives too, as evidenced by the one who stood less then 10' away from me playing on his phone while I struggled to load paneling onto a cart (which, inexplicably, are also nearly nonexistent). But, a good pro-tip, if you feel like enduring the sighs and eye-rolling when asking for help, there's normally 8-12 people behind the "customer service" center you could ask for help. You won't have to look hard to find them, they're the ones trying (and failing) to give the impression they're actually working. Anyways, if you want to be ignored and be left alone, this is the store to come to. If you have questions or need help, go to Buffalo...
