Yume Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Town of Batavia

This place only offered pick-up, and I ordered the hibachi food that they offered. I have to say I was terribly disappointed as this food was not even close to what hibachi actually is. The rice wasn't fried it was just boiled and served. The chicken didn't seem seasoned or fresh, it just seemed like it was preprepared like the chicken in most Chinese entrees. I just think it was misleading to label that food as hibachi when there are places that serve hibachi and serve it fried and fresh. And don't get me started on the noodles they served with the "hibachi". Those were the worst noodles I've ever had with any kind of Asian cuisine. They tasted like wet spaghetti fresh from the pot. There was no flavor to them at all except watery noodle. The sushi was good but I need more than just sushi available to me. Another thing I didn't find convenient about ordering my food was when I walked in I could barely understand the clerk on the other side of the "covid safety divider" which resulted in him adding an entire extra hibachi entree that I didn't ask for. He must not have been able to understand me very well because of that divider but it costed me almost $20 for meal I didn't ask for. This used to be my go to (because it’s the only one) sushi spot in the area. Sometimes the taste/quality can be hit or miss but last night was the final straw. Ordered the sushi and sashimi combo for take out and when we got home to eat it, the sushi just didn’t look right from the beginning. The “tuna” filets did not look like tuna. They were a pale pink color and had a lot of the white connective tissue in it, almost like how kobe beef looks. I have never seen tuna look like this from ANY restaurant I’ve been to. They were all chewy and inedible. Then the salmon filets were also wet and slimy and tasted off. In the spicy tuna roll there was a big fish scale inside the 2nd piece of the roll, so we were done with that too.

So we basically threw away the entire meal besides for a few pieces we did actually eat. And we also felt kind of sick at night. This has officially turned us off from going/ordering food from here again, which we have spent thousands of dollars there since...

We always order to go food from this place when I'm at work . I had some issues in the past with my orders but nothing like today. I found a piece of black thick hair mixed with eggs in my fried rice when I called Yume to report it the lady asked me multiple questions about the color and thickness of the hair lije she didn't believe me which I think was unnecessary since I was a loyal costumer. I was offered a refund or another friend rice but I couldn't go back immediately since I was at work and my lunch was over. I then went after work and she started questioning me about the rice not been intact. She started questioning why I ate some of it and my answer was because I didn't find the hair right away and I was hungry. Por service and respect to loyal costumers.
