Really not that great. Unfortunately, we were highly disappointed with our visit to Amanda's Kitchen at 15 E. Main street in Washingtonville. The steak meat was tough as if not great of a cut or quality, and it also lacked flavor. The crema used was very light and did not compliment the items it went on. The corn was over boiled and tasted watery. The tacos had way too much cilantro on them. Overall, the food lacked flavor. For being an authentic Mexican food restaurant and not a Tex-Mex, there was a lot lacking that could be improved on with the food and it's flavor. The restaurant seemed a bit uncared for. There were flies everywhere because the door was kept open. Swatting flies while trying to eat is not something most want to do. The service was not bad, but it could have been much better. Everything took long to come, especially considering that at the time there were only two tables needing service. Unfortunately, I will not be revisiting. Taking ownership of where they lack, adding more flavor in the cooking, improving some of the ingredients, addressing some of the small things, and being a bit more hospitable would improve this...

It took us awhile to finally try this gem, and we couldn't believe we didn't try it sooner! Now it is our go to place in the area, especially for takeout. Excellent, authentic, Mexican food. They have a big menu, I have yet to try the breakfast or the American fare; but the burritos, tacos, salads, and nachos are all delicious and fairly priced.

They just expanded the dining area, so there's plenty of space to eat inside as well as outdoor seating I believe. It's always nice and cool (or warm in the winter) inside, and the family/staff the work there are always friendly. We haven't had a wrong order in about 25 visits. Definitely...

For our New Year's Eve party, my family ordered trays of empanadas, flautas, and chimichangas, as well as chips and guacamole, salsa and sour cream. Every bit of food was phenomenal; the side sauces were flavorful and plenty; and and the service was impeccable. Not only was the delivery right on time, but the lady let us know we were originally slightly overcharged by mistake and had the money ready to give back to us. We really valued their honesty, promptness, and overall effort to give us the best possible experience, and their restaurant will be part of every possible future family function. Thank...

We just happened to pass by on mexican independence day where they had a mariachi band in the lot outside. The food was good (I liked the chimichangas but the enchilada was a bit too spicy) and price worthy. Service was a little lacking-they had a tough time keeping up with the amount of business the party attracted. All around, it was still a fun and enjoyable evening.

Overall, I'd come back. I got the Enchiladas with rice and a salad. The red sauce had just the right amount of kick. The chicken was a little chewy. The irony of my meal was that I was most impressed with the side salad. The size and quality with lots of added vegetables (peppers, radish, and tomato) was great. The service was prompt and friendly.
