Let me start with the pros, because there weren't many.
First, since this was our first time here and I have been looking forward to eating here for years, it took a little bit longer to order. The waitress was kind enough to get my two children's orders in first since they were hungry. Their food came out as expected. Second, my Chicken Piccata was outstanding.
End of pros.
Cons: The moment we get there, the host and waitresses are bickering about where to seat my family consisting of me, my wife, my 4yr old, and my 1 yr old who needs a high chair. Worst yet, they are bickering where to seat them because they don't want the high chair at certain tables (this place was half empty, and there was plenty of space to walk around a high chair at any of the tables). So, they stuck us in the corner of the restaurant. The atmosphere was quiet, but quite a dark setting. The men's restroom was unkept with a door that had tape on the door handle lock and the cover to the back of the toilet was hanging half-off.
We get our food, and my wife's gnocchi were a little tough, but the red sauce was the worst of it. I'd compare it to a little more than a can of Ragu sauce. My 4yr old even said the sauce is "not good". Again, my Chicken Piccata was excellent, however, from the many reviews I've read from here, the portions were supposed to be large, and this was not (and would have been nice if there were more than four mushrooms on it).
Before the worst part of the meal, I'm going explain what my wife and I did during our time here. When we were seated and throughout the course our meal we made sure that our table was easy to clean up by putting down placemats down where our children ate. Furthermore, we made sure plates were stacked when finished, and the table was properly bused before our waitress would come to take them.
This was the worst part: after we all finished, we waited a good long while and my kids were getting impatient. We apologized for the mess that my 1yr old made under his high chair, but it's not abnormal for children to make messes. Waitress finally came over and handed us the check, but had THE NERVE to say to my wife, "oh your [oldest] son is making it worse, he's grinding the food into the carpet, here's some napkins clean it up." My 4yr old was not stepping on it on purpose, and I find it absurd and rude to tell a paying customer to clean your floor in your restaurant regardless of the level of mess. I didn't see the waitress tell the old man sitting next to us to get down on his hands and knees to clean the spaghetti pieces and bread crumbs he left around his chair.
Sadly, this first experience will be...
Read moreI don’t know who is rating this place, that needs to be questioned because this is the worst place I have ever ate at and I don’t ever write a review except a previous one and this would be my second. Where do I begin, first appearance is everything: the only thing lit up on the outside sign was the name (Cerames) everything was off. Inside look good, plenty of people to include another party in the back party area, were we sat also for my wife’s birthday. The food was like something you would see on Gordan Ramsey Kitchen Nightmare when he orders food and tests it in the beginning and spits it out. I ordered the breaded Calamari, when it arrived my wife questioned if it was Calamari or onion rings, they looked and tasted like they were frozen store bought, not close to being fresh. The salads came out a lot of lettuce, one tomatoes and several croutons. The main dishes came out, I order Chicken Cacciatore, the chicken looked like it was boiled, a lot of red bell peppers that were canned which they an awful strong vinegar taste that was overwhelming, which I could not finish. I also had a side dish of Angel hair pasta, the sauce was burnt, very bitter, very plain and looked like it was sitting in a pot for hours. Another person in our party ordered Fried Scallops, they were also frozen because the inside was watery and tasted very fishy. I could go on and write about each one because there was 12 people in our party, The waitress was AWESOME and felt sorry for her so that is the reason why I did not complain at that time. As we were walking out, I observed an older male in the kitchen window drinking a glass of beer, what chief or cook does that, like I said this was a making for Kitchen Nightmare. I know these are tough times with hiring and cost, BUT the cook needs to be fired on the spot, owner and manager need to review their product and what is being made. I am sorry to say this but if you are expecting anything close to Italian food this is...
Read moreAtmosphere is a family/neighborhood restaurant in a mall.
Service was very slow to take order and even getting the check from waitress. The assistant/bus person I guess that did the water and misc things were quick. I was a little surprised when I asked what is the difference between Panang, Masaman and Green Curry. The waitresss replied don't I know the difference because I'm Asian. I told her no each country/regionay have different take. Thai curry take is not exactly like Indian, Chinese etc.
We had Veal Parmesan and Green Curry w beef.
Veal was tender but the party that had it said it had a spot that was not chewable. The sauce felt like it was a jar or can sauce not bad but nothing to write home about, I tried the sauce and I agree.
Green Curry base was very good. However the beef was in slices but tough, not sure if it's cut of meat or was overdone for that cut. As other restaurants I've had curry dishes may use brisk which is a tougher cut not used in as slices but is so tender due to long...
