Finally I don't have to drive to Webster or Henrietta to eat at Corelife. The Brighton location is extremely convenient and if anything, is overstaffed. There were around nine people managing customers behind the food prep area, which kept the line moving well. This makes fast casual... fast. I've been to some other places where 2-3 people manage customers slowly and you can wait in line 10+ minutes, but not here, even when you have a few customers ahead of you with a million questions and are indecisive about what they want. (Tip: Grab the menu, which looks like a small newspaper from the entrance area and sit down and consider your options before getting in line.)
There is never an overwhelming crowd when I have been here so you can eat comfortably and casually, and I'm happy to see the expanding menu of ethnic food options like the Korean beef and other spicy Asian and Southwestern options. Healthy food does not have to be boring and bland, and Corelife does a good job of keeping interesting flavors wide and varied.
During the colder weather months, the warm grain bowls are especially good. I am just not into things drowned in bone broth personally, although I wouldn't mind it as a more traditional soup base.
I don't consider any of Corelife's offerings "comfort food" and it isn't a place I'd eat at every day. I am not a rabbit so my diet does not consist of grazing through greenery at every meal. I also still don't have a love affair with kale, which remains a texture challenge more than a taste one. It simply doesn't work for me as a staple ingredient in a dish, but is easily avoided because everything is custom prepared how you want it.
Beyond my personal preferences, I am confident about getting high quality, minimally-processed, healthy ingredients here, no matter what I order from the menu. You almost feel like rewarding yourself for skipping the burger or fast food joint and choosing...
Read moreI'll start off by saying I absolutely love the many menu items I have had at CoreLife but the service and hospitality of employees not so much. I have noticed this the last few visits but just ignored and kept coming back. Tonight I attempted to order online through their website. My order was placed, payment taken and receipt emailed with an approximate 35 minute delivery time. Very shortly before my order was to arrive I received a call from the gentlemen who was sent to the store to pick it up that the lights were mainly off and the front door was locked. Upon calling the store I spoke to a manager who informed me a power failure had occurred over 2 hours ago. I had to press her to refund my money which she did end up doing but her tone of voice was very snippy and made me feel I had dome something wrong. I asked if she could please let the person waiting in their car outside know they could leave as I did not have a number to contact the driver and she seemed hesitant to do that. I was just very frustrated at the attitude, non apologetic and borderline rudeness of the manager. The situation was very unfortunate and it was late enough to not be able to order many of my other go-to's online as things were now closed. I'm not sure why the website allowed me to place an order, take my money and tell me the order was being prepared. Not to mention sending a driver out there for nothing. Bad...
Read moreI have always loved CoreLife because it is never bad. I moved away and just came back for work and all I wanted was CoreLife. This location failed me today. First person I ordered through was super pleasant, but as I went down the line that pleasant disappeared. The second individual threw 5 small pieces of spicy chicken onto my bowl so I kindly requested second scoop. They and a third individual proceeded to roll their eyes and throw another scoop of unseasoned chicken on the bowl and walked away. I waited for someone to grab the bowl. The cashier finally came over, grabbed it, and proceeded to cash me out. I asked for a drink and she added it to my total. When it came to the tip screen, I was ready to give them something for their work. Well, I guess she assumed I wouldn't and proceeded to tell me how to not tip by pressing a specific button. Half a second later, she rudely presses the button for me and says "like that". I proceeded to reply, "well, I was trying to give you guys a tip but I guess not then." She said, "oh. Have a good day" and walks away without giving me a drink cup. I stand there for a few minutes trying to wave anyone down but they all seemed to be purposefully ignoring me. I loudly say "hey! Can I have a cup please?" Cashier says "oh!" like it was a surprise to everyone and hands me a cup. No sorry. No nothing. Just hands me the cup. Saving grace: food was...
