Chico's Tex Mex, Selden
We all absolutely loved this place! For a family of 5, that's a win!
I'll start with customer service... Glazey was incredible! I had to bother her a few times on the phone to make inquiries about items and each time she was sweeter than before!
We pre-ordered online during the day and did curbside pickup at the new Selden location later in the day. The food was ready on time and super fresh and hot when we got home (10 minutes away).
We made sure to order a bunch of items to test them out and I'm so glad we did.
The burritos were all really large and we have leftovers for tomorrow.
The tacos were incredible. There was a ton of shrimp and fish in all the tacos. Not pictured are my little ones steak soft tacos. That's because he got them with nothing on them... Literally just the steak. But he devoured the steak which was nice to see during dinner for him.
I'm missing Mexican Pizza, big time, from Taco Bell (don't judge, I've seen some of your posts! đ). This was really good. Not the same, but definitely awesome.
Chips are plentiful. Not exactly our families kind of chips. They're very thick, more like a Chinese noodle almost. But that's just us. They were incredibly generous with them (but we also ordered larges of the salsa, Guac and queso which come with chips).
There's definitely a kick to some of the dishes, so if you don't like that, be sure to ask about it. It kinda ruined it for my oldest who could only make it through a 1/4 of his chicken burrito and the burrito bowl had sauce that was super spicy. But still delicious items.
Lastly, and I can't stress this enough... dessert. Do. Not. Miss. It. Churros. Fried ice cream. Oh my. We wouldn't never miss leaving space for dessert from Chico's.
Also be sure to ask for their specialty sauces, which they absolutely don't scrimp on.
Clearly, each item was made with quality in mind. Super impressed.
I give this place an all around win! We all loved it and will absolutely be back,...
Read moreThis place is amazing. It is a small little Mexican restaurant located in a strip mall. I have been driving by 4 weeks and figured tonight was the night. There are six tables located inside and everybody behind the counter was amazing. The best
After placing our order they brought chips and salsa to the table.
For those of you that follow my reviews my son is a very picky eater. Tonight he decided to eat a special burrito. It was buffalo chicken with mac and cheese ranch dressing and something else. He asked him to hold the ranch dressing and that was not an issue at all. He absolutely loved it. The burritos are the size of your head so that will definitely be two or three meals for him.
My wife ordered a Mexican pizza. It was small but delicious. At less than $5 she should have ordered two and that would have been a perfect meal. It blows the one away from Taco Bell. Please don't even compare the two.
I ordered Biria tacos. They are made with just enough kick to me prevalent but not too much to be overbearing. I absolutely loved my meal and this will be my go-to from now on. The consume was delicious. I've had it from some places that have been overly salty but this one was perfect. Each Taco was ordered separately so I ordered three and that was a good meal. Each one came with a lime wedge and was a delicious addition to it.
My daughter ordered chicken tacos without lettuce and said the chicken was moist and tender and absolutely incredible tasting.
If you haven't been yet please make it a point to check them out. Absolutely a great addition to the community and I know there's two locations but I went to the one in Selden.
On the second trip we tried the elote, which was absolutely delicious. We also tried the wings and they were out of this world good. We definitely...
Read moreOverall Food wasnât bad but wasnât that great some stuff is pricey for the portion size you get like the quesadillas are small and donât include any sides such as sour cream guacamole or a pico so thats disappointing I tried one of the chalupaâs and I wasnât impressed it was soggy and stale didnât taste fresh so the food is better then Tocobell but definitely not the best Mexican tex-mex place Iâve been to Update: I have gone back a few times to try and let them redeem themselves but I am now giving this place a 1star from the original 3star I first gave them The one thing that seemed OK on their menu was a Chalupas but theyâre constantly over cooked theyâre hard and crispy. Thatâs not what theyâre supposed to be. I tried several times and Iâve asked them to not do it and they still continue to make it that way. The meat is all BAD the beef way to salty the chicken way to dry steak is cheap and lacks flavor same for the shrimp. another big problem I have is their Huge lack of sour cream I constantly have to ask for extra and they still donât put ANY on. so Iâm done this place sucks and I WILL NOT...
