Just for context, this is the first negative I have ever written on any platform but it need to be mentioned. My girlfriend and I have eaten at Kira 2 times out of 4 total attempts. I will start by saying we were impressed with the food which was very tasty for a small all you can eat sushi place. The problem was the horrific service and table "reservation" system. One time we arrived for dinner and the restuarant was visibly busy. The host said they were on a 1 hour wait and asked us for a phone number so they can call us when a table was open. We then waited in our car for a 1 hour and 15 mins before going back inside to check on the status. We then were told that a table was not ready and it will be another hour wait....When were they going to notify us that? What if we didnt go inside to follow up? The only answer was "sorry" and we were rudely shrugged off. Our second, and final experience we had was when we called ahead to make a dinner reservation for 2 a half hour prior to showing up. The host told us that they do not take reservations for 2 people that instead just come in because it wasnt busy. We then arrive 25 mins after the phone call to the host saying it was going to be over a 1 hour wait. When we asked her why she just told us to come in if there was a chance that the wait would go up to that long she rudely responded "all of these people called after you and made reservations".... Meanwhile we were standing right next to a party of 2 sitting at a series of 4 tables pushed together that could've been separated. And we wasted another trip to Kira due to there terrible hospitality etiquette. I understand things are a little more difficult with Covid 19, but try to have a little more respect for peoples time. Enjoyed the food, will not return due to the horrible and rude service. On my way to Umami sushi on middle country rd where I dont have...
Read moreDined in here for an early evening dinner before a holiday weekend and the restaurant was very busy and filled with several customers dining in and some picking up orders to go. Even though there is a decent size parking lot, the parking was a bit difficult mainly because of how it was at that time of the day. Was able to get a parking spot as some other customers had to park on side streets.
Fortunately, only had to wait a few minutes for available seating. "Johnny"/"Johnnie" escorted us to our table and said he will make it more private...he then opened up one of the shoji screens/room divider to separate the dining area from the waiting area. Dining area was actually open, brightly lit, and tastefully designed.
The AYCE menu offers a wide variety of dishes and drinks. There were some dishes not listed on the regular AYCE menu, but are included as part of the AYCE dining option. The wait staff did show us a separate menu card with the other dishes that were available to order.
All of the dishes were served fresh, quick, and presented beautifully. Tempura dishes we had were brought out very hot and fresh. All tasted very delicious. I literally ended up burning a few taste buds off of my tongue with a couple of the tempura pieces because the tempura dishes were very hot and delicious...and I was very hungry too, my fault.
Sashimi, sushi rolls, and the other various dishes we had were all excellent. Fried Oreos were crispy on the outside and gooey and delicious on the inside. The green tea ice cream was very refreshing and had great flavor.
Overall, the service was great and the food...
Read moreFirst, I should start by saying the food was absolutely delicious. Everything is super fresh and tastes amazing. I went to Kira for the first time last night for all you can eat and was super impressed. However the service was disappointing⌠We placed our first order for AYCE, and the waiter only put one item in, when we had placed an order for at least 7+ dishes. We waited 35+ minutes before saying anything, until we saw tables who came in after us getting served all their food. Maybe itâs our fault for not speaking up sooner but they were busy, so we did not want to be bothersome. The waitress who we ended up talking to was not super helpful, saying that all was put in on the iPad was coconut shrimp, but our piece of paper had much more. Would 3 people come to all you can eat for only 4 pieces of coconut shrimp? She had us place another order for all the stuff we didnât receive. Since we already had an issue you would think we would get all we ordered. We had to ask two separate waitresses for the sushi pizza we ordered or else we would not have recieved it. And we never recieved the sweet garden roll we ordered but ended up not reordering since it was last call. Itâs a little frustrating as we got there at 8:15, did not receive our food we ordered (prob by 8:20/8:25) until 9, then get told last call is at 9:30 so we were not able to try everything we wanted. Maybe this is a once in a while thing for them, but nonetheless very disappointing since the food was absolutely delicious. We would love to dine again here, but are not sure the service...
