If you are looking for a place to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in Medford, NY, you should definitely check out La Margherita Pizzeria and Restaurant². This family-owned restaurant has been serving Long Island's first wood-burning brick oven pizza for over 30 years, and it shows in the quality and taste of their food. The restaurant has a cozy and elegant atmosphere, with a spacious dining room, a private party room, and a beautiful outdoor patio. The service is excellent, as the staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.
The menu offers a variety of dishes, from classic favorites like pasta, pizza, and lasagna, to signature specialties like veal saltimbocca, chicken scarpariello, and seafood fra diavolo. I started with the fried calamari, which was crispy, tender, and served with a tangy marinara sauce. For the main course, I ordered the lobster ravioli, which was filled with succulent lobster meat and topped with a creamy pink sauce. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. The portion was generous, and I enjoyed every bite.
For dessert, I had the tiramisu, which was a heavenly combination of ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese, espresso, and cocoa. It was light, moist, and not too sweet. It was the perfect way to end a wonderful meal.
I highly recommend La Margherita Pizzeria and Restaurant to anyone looking for a great Italian restaurant in the area. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. It is a place where you can enjoy a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a business meeting. La Margherita Pizzeria and Restaurant is a true gem of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter about a year of knowing about La Margherita, I finally head the opportunity to come for dinner. What a nice new find for us.
We started off with the whole baked clams (6) that were nice and moist and delicious along with the fried calamari appetizer. These are rings only, served with a nice portion of marinara, crispy and tender. We also had a margherita pie which was from the brick oven.
For dinner, we ordered the orecchiette with a broccoli rab pesto sauce which was just amazingly delicious. We also had the shrimp scampi which were enjoyed thoroughly.
I ordered the seafood marinara combination with linguini, fragrant diavlo. The dish was delicious with plenty of muscles, 2 clams, 2 shrimp and calamari. I felt that there could have been a little more past in the dish, but besides that, it was very delicious and loaded with flavor. Or certainly isn't worth losing a star.
AJ was our waiter. He was helpful with recommendations and the food came out timely. I did find it hard to get his attention a couple of times, but he was still very good. We even had a moment to talk with one of the owners as well which was enjoyable.
All in all, La Margherita is a very lovely restaurant with a nice feel of Italy. The word often is amazing and the fireplace a very nice touch. The food is amazing, service very good and the experience just wonderful. I woo be back akin and I highly recommend...

This small pizzeria was such a pleasure to see and dine at, a throwback to independent dining facilities before franchises took over! Charming and cozy.
It was nice to see a small selection of wine and beer options available to select from with your meal. Vegetarian options, as well as gluten-free options were available. We ordered a Vegetarian pizza pie. This is the only restaurant I have ever eaten at, in several countries, that put carrots and zucchini on a pizza! But too crunchy, but the vegetable option was good. That was a nice surprise, to me. There is plenty of space for just grabbing a bite or joining others for a gathering. They have a cozy seating area with booths and tables in their addition. Restrooms were clean - however, we were there early in the day, so unsure how they are cared for by the later hours.
Conveniently located off the hwy and nestled next to a gas station, it's easily accessible- even if you aren't a local. Those...
