Food is usually very good, customer service not so much. majority of the time they stand there and ignore you at the counter when they see you. No greeting or āhello weāll be with you in a few minutesā, nothing at all. Itās not a one time thing either, it happens multiple times with my coworkers and with other customers that come in. And I would have no problem with waiting a few minutes to be helped as long as I was acknowledged. They know you are there but keep their backs turned to you as the other customers and myself stare at each like āwhatās going on?ā Itās really odd and passive aggressive and negates the experience of wanting to enjoy their food or buy from them. And there is one particular female cashier who is very rude and passive aggressive with myself and my fellow coworkers and friends. I donāt know why she has such a chip on her shoulder. I have no idea why it happens as we are very nice and come in multiple times a week for food, even when their pricing consistency lacks as well. Ignoring your customers is the worst thing you can do for your business and not being consistent. Good luck with that. Also: they have lots of expired product they donāt cycle through since grand opening. P.s.: please stop ignoring your patrons when they enter the store regardless of how busy you are! There is no excuse .It takes two seconds to turn around and tell someone that you will be right with them in a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was very excited to try this place when I first heard about it a couple of days back. I checked the menu beforehand and knew I was going to try the H-7 hero.
I got there and was horrified to see a microwave. After a few people ordered in front of me, I realized all the hot sandwiches were going into the microwave. DISGUSTING! Good ol Chef Mike running the show at Mangiamo. I couldnāt even bare to try food from a microwave. If I wanted that, Iād just stay home and pop a sandwich into the microwave myself.
I ended up getting a Turkey sandwich. The quality of the Turkey was good. Quality of the bread was good. Veggies were meh. Some brown spots on the lettuce here and there, onions pretty transparent looking like theyāve seen better days. Bacon was a bit on the tough side and had a smokey flavor that didnāt really go with the sandwich.
As for the customer service, itās pretty bad at best. Very disorganized. Some sandwiches are named the same thing like āV1ā making things confusing. Some of the workers donāt speak good english and had to check with customers multiple times if they had the correct order. If Iām going to an Italian market, I want to see all Italians working there. Same applies for any other kind of food. If Iām getting tacos, I want to see all Mexicans and so on⦠So that was pretty off-putting to be honest.
All in all, I wonāt be back but try it out if youād like to see...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATE: everyone please read the restaurants response to my review. How unprofessional of an establishment to respond with such sarcasm and spitefulness. Not only did they not address the terrible attitude of their employee but they actually are insinuating i am referring to subway shredded lettuce and insulting me. LOL. They are absolutely terrible and i hope the public reads their responses to poor reviews and sees how poor this deli is managed all around. They deserve to be shut down for their unprofessionalism. STAY FAR AWAY. If you want a real italian deli try Salpinos they are far better and donāt use cheap products! Ciao!
Ordered a couple heroes for pickup. the place looked promising from the outside and then when we walked in we were greeted with the most miserable girl behind the register. Not 1 italian worker there, not authentic at all. $60 later the mortadella tasted cheap and gross we practically vomited and it actually smelled just as bad as it tasted! The hero bread was burnt, the lettuce was not shredded on the hero as a typical italian deli would do. Just a complete waste of money and time. If you are a real italian who likes true italian deliās...
