I hate to leave any type of review only after trying it one time, but, In this instance I felt like It was necessary.. I was excited to try another Mexican cafe in the Medford area and try somthing new instead of cactus cafe. (I should have stuck with what I knew) I ordered a burrito gigante with no peppers and while it came with no peppers the sheer amount of onion was more than overwhelming, maybe a whole sliced onion on one burrito( some of you love that Iâm sure and thatâs ok).. for me it was waaaay too much and feel like most cooks, wether in their own kitchen or at the restaurant know that an obscene amount of anything should only be done at the customers request. the steak was burnt and flavorless, and I couldnât tell you if there was any cheese in it. i opened the burrito and didnât see any.. it could have been melted in I suppose but again, I didnât see any. the black beans were flavorless as well. I thought theyâd be sautĂ©ed in garlic or somthing (like other places) or at least mixed with some Sazon.. idk maybe I have unrealistic expectations⊠to top it all off I puked about half way through⊠not sure why, it would be unfair to say it was only from the burrito, but it did happen while eating itâŠ
I also had a Mexican pizza which was ok but had sour cream, cheese and guac on it which definitely made it better than the burrito.
It came chips and salsa and salsa does look good, but I didnât try it.. maybe tomorrow
Just not sure if Iâll try this place again.. my fiancĂ© and 18 yr old son both agreed that they didnât like their food and we shouldnât go back.. weâll see I guess. I donât want to write it off after the 1st time but no favors weâre done...
Read moreIf you do not know exactly where this place is you need to use your maps as it is a side store that does not face the road. I called ahead ordered food to go and when we walked in it was not yet ready.
We ordered a steak burrito supreme with sour cream, a fish taco, a shrimp taco and a chicken taco along with a cheese quesadilla and a veggie quesadilla.
We brought the food to the house which is less than 4 minutes away.
The burrito supreme we asked for sour cream did not have any sour cream and it was dry the burrito would get 3 stars.
My first taco was by far my favorite which was the fish taco - 5 starts for this. It was delicious!
The shrimp taco was dry and bland and my least favorite with a 1.5 star for this one.
The chicken taco was pretty decent. The chicken was red-ish, I guess from the spices they use. But by now I realized I needed to load up with some sour cream and salsa from the veggie quesadilla so it was not dry. This taco gets 3 stars - although it surely would have been dry with out the extra stuff that I added to it myself.
The tacos were all made with 2 corn tortilla's each. I tried to separate the corn tortilla so that I only ate 1 corn tortilla per taco but they were attached almost, and you had to rip the corn tortilla to separate them.
The veggie quesadilla was soggy and mushy. I am going to assume they sauté the vegetables in oil or butter then put them in with the cheese to make the quesadilla. It was thrown in the garbage.
The cheese quesadilla the person who ordered that said it was good.
With all the good reviews, I guess I had higher expectations. I would stick with the fish taco or a plain cheese quesadilla if I...
Read moreJust like other reviewers, I read the reviews and decided to give this place a try. Boy, was I delighted. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and I have to admit I probably never would have visited had it not been for the good reviews. It's a small shop, only a few tables, but quaint and inviting. The young man at the counter who took our order was very friendly, offering suggestions from the menu. There was a salsa bar offering different condiments, including a delightful grilled tomato salsa, with the perfect amount of heat and lots of fresh cilantro flavor. I went for broke and ordered the mammoth Burrito "Gigante", or as I dubbed it, "Death by Burrito." This thing was huge, filled with grilled steak, peppers, onions, rice, and beans. I ordered mine "Enchilada Style", covered with a savory and slightly sweet red sauce and tons of ooey-gooey cheese, and it came with crispy corn chips, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream on the side. I could barely eat half this thing, but I'm looking forward to the other half for lunch tomorrow. My girlfriend had the delectable fish tacos, made with red snapper with cabbage and a sauce that tasted a little bit like tartar when she squeezed a lemon on them. Very tasty and light. The prices are very reasonable, and there are a lot of dishes to choose from here. Nothing we tried was overly spicy or over-salted like other places. If you love Mexican food, do yourself a favor. Drive away from the Bell and find this place, and...
