There are SO MANY delis here in NY and on LI! This one is right around the corner from my hotel, and it was a worthy stop. As always, I tried the egg salad first. The bread choices were somewhat limited; I chose whole wheat, which was OK. The egg salad itself was a little soggy and homogenous in texture and color--it was hard to tell what it was just by looking at it or eating it. The sandwich worked well as an ensemble, though, and was satisfying in the end. I came in close to closing, and that may have affected the egg salad quality.
The lady behind the counter was a gem: very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend the place just based on that interaction. I think I'll go back and try one of their hot...
Read moreAverage food and poor service. The woman at the counter is grumpy and compliments herself by being rude. I asked for one of their specialty sandwiches, she rushed through the order. I could understand if they were busy at the time with customers waiting behind me. But that was not the case. When I got the sandwich I told her of the mistake that was made. She responded by telling me I had not asked for that (I clearly did) Note for next time: Take the sandwich back without an attitude and accept a mistake was made. Poor Service....

I've gotten the occasional screw up with skin being left on avocado and things like that, which ain't too big a deal, everyone's human, but nobody wears masks in the place. That's right, you anti-mask plague rats, it seems like Sawgrass is proudly a safe space for you. The workers wear masks, sure... below their faces. Maybe I'll go back when this ain't an issue, but until then, I don't feel like having people mouth...
