My friend came from out of town to visit me a few months ago and said she wanted to go to this deli she had passed one time on her way to my house once before but couldn’t remember the name. We drove around looking for it for almost an hour before we found Waverly deli. Unfortunately it was a few minutes before they closed. I explained the situation to the owner but he said I’m sorry but you can have anything in the counter (tuna, chicken, egg salad or a chicken with peppers and onions mixture, but the slicers were already cleaned. We both have acid reflux so I ordered a chicken salad (I asked if it had onion and he said no) my friend dared to order the grilled chicken w/peppers and onions and I asked her are you sure that’s going to be ok for you? She said yes. We got 2 Snapple’s and 2 Small packs of chocolate covered pretzels. We went back to my place and only ate half each of our sandwiches before starting to feel ill! We threw out the other half’s. In hindsight we should have left and went somewhere else to get our lunch. It just was difficult because I have MS in addition to other health issues and so does my friend. Too much traveling and running around is detrimental to our health. It’s such a shame the owner couldn’t make an exception and make us sandwiches. I guess he didn’t want to be put out by having to re-clean the slicer. That’s a shame. I would have been grateful and spent additional money to show my appreciation...
Read moreWas there yesterday it was too hot in there. What kind of owner keeps their employees so hot they are sweating into our food? Inhumane treatment of customers and employees. Doesn't care about anyone but keeping bills down. Shameful! I really feel bad for employees who have to stay for hours in sweltering conditions like it is a sweat shop.
2 week update::::: came back today and it was 80° at 8am. Surely your landlord would have fixed it by now, no? This HAS GOT TO BE against the law to force your employees to work in such conditions. I will look for the landlord today myself and ask who is in charge of fixing it. If I come back tomorrow and it is still hot I will be in contact with the board of labor ans the board of health as it cannot be good for all the food out on display to be in such heat...
Read moreI called in my order 20 minutes ahead of time. Got to the location. A gentleman was on his cell phone and my food was not done. The person I took the order left for the day. The new person was on his phone with gloves on. I asked for my sandwich you said it wasn't done. I told him exactly what I wanted and the modifications. They were not followed.
The chicken cutlet was microwaved to be warmed up. The sandwich was very chewy and tasted old.
The brownie tasted old and hard.
The only good thing was that the gentleman changed his gloves when I asked him to. But he did take my bread in the back which...
