UPDATE: 2025

The food has changed dramatically. I ordered the beloved baked ziti I got before, that was amazing. Well, today was a massive disappointment. The ziti I ordered was penne. The melted mozzarella was leathery. The meat sauce I decided to treat myself to, was tasteless, watery, and the meat sauce aspect was chunks of bland hamburger. I was locked forward to this baked ziti all day. And now I'm left with a foil tin of what will probably be tossed. And I when I went in to pick up my order, the restaurant was empty. At 5:30pm.

ORIGINAL: 2024

I was craving a nice pasta meal, and saw that 57 Ninety had taken over the old La Costa Verde location. My most favorite Italian meal is baked ziti. Nobody can seem to get it right (meaning I haven't been happy in years). Most restaurants serve ziti using penne. Then don't call it ziti! Anyways, I ordered the baked ziti, fettuccine parm, 2 meatballs, and chicken & gnocchi soup. I'm blown away by the baked ziti. ACTUAL ZITI PASTA! the red sauce is the best I've ever tasted. I cried. I legit cried. So good! The mozzarella on top was high quality as well. Now let's talk about the meatballs. Huge. Smothered in that devine red sauce. They were so soft and beautifully flavored - some of the best I've ever had! The chicken & gnocchi soup was out of this world. So creamy, stunningly flavored and full of delicious ingredients. The fettuccine alfredo was delicious, but could use a tad bit more garlic/parm in it's sauce (personal preference). The restaurant is beautiful. The staff is courteous and friendly, and most importantly, the food is out of this world. I can't rave enough! Thank you for making my little baked ziti...

I gave 4 stars, as I never give perfect scores...now to the review.

When we got in, only a couple of tables were seated, but by the time we left, it was filling up to about 2/3rd filled. We ordered our drinks. While now you only get one refill, for me that is more than enough, as I barely ever get through a glass of anything... Under Costa Verde, I ordered the baked ziti a lot. So thought I would order that tonight as a comparison. I like a sweeter sauce, and while not as sweet, I definitely did taste some sweetness in the sauce. It was very good, had flavor without being too sweet. Had good amount of cheese for the portion served. While I don't get pasta as often as I like, I can put it away when I do get it, so I thought my baked ziti could be a little bigger portion. But do take that with a grain of salt, it was a good size portion, and most would be fine with it, but again, I can put it away, and ordered a dessert to top off the room I had left. My wife got the manicotti and left a couple of bites. She agreed that the sauce has good flavor, and found her portion quite satisfying. Dessert was a tarimaso for me, as I do not know many places that have it. Very good. My wife had raspberry cheesecake. Both of our desserts were good size, and decent price. Natalie was our server. I remember her from Costa Verde, and recognized another employee...glad to see some of the previous staff remained. We liked the new look. Classy without being over the top. Good color choice. Nice decor. Will definitely go back so we can try...

I use to order here all the time food was amazing when it was the old name we decided to try them today since it’s new owner boy was that a mistake the chicken frances was absolutely disgusting no flavor chicken was all soggy and disgusting they definitely need to less on how to make the sauce with butter and lemon and the noodles came with the red sauce instead of the butter lemon sauce like at any other normal italian restaurant my wife’s ravioli had mushrooms in it and we asked for no mushrooms but clearly attention to detail is not one of their expertise when I called to complain I asked for a manager a teenage girl that appear to be 12 13 max when I picked up food started to interrogate me why do u want a manager what’s wrong with the order lol then she told another women there’s a guy calling asking for a manager, and I don’t know why he won’t tell me clearly I just told her, but she doesn’t have any integrity so she would rather lie teenage boy took the order and also cashed me out he also looks 13-14 years old Then the women who says she is the manager starts to argue with me and tell me i’m lying and she made the food and I am wrong and nobody told her not to put mushrooms and the chicken Française made correctly when it wasn’t my wife was like sending her pictures at that point I wasn’t disgusted with her attitude and the way she was handling a valid complaint this place is a joke and won’t last long having teenagers running the place and arguing...

I recently visited 57 Ninety Restaurant, a spot we frequented previously but had also been curious about, since they opened and took over the space that was formerly La Costa Verde. Since they're celebrating their first anniversary, it felt like the perfect time to give them a try. On this visit I went specifically for their Tuesday Pizza special and was happy I did. The pizza was so tasty, I'll absolutely get it again. The menu has a lot of variety, so I'm already looking forward to my next visit to try some of their other dishes, perhaps for a sit-down meal. One thing I love is that they offer two different sauces: a sweet one reminiscent of the previous restaurant's sauce, and a more seasoned option. The staff was wonderful, delightful and incredibly helpful. They made placing my order a seamless and efficient process. Inside, the restaurant has a much more modern and comfortable feel than before. Everything was very clean and organized, though I did notice a persistent, slightly off smell that was also present with the previous owners (so it may be building related). For a local, non-chain meal, 57 Ninety is certainly worth checking out!
