North Chili Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Chili

Rated it 1 star because it wouldn't take my review with no stars. Place was very cold, table was sticky. Asked for a wet cloth. She wiped it off again. Asked the wait person if the chili was considered to be soup because it was in the soup category, she said no.. I ordered the meat loaf w/mashed spuds dinner. Then when I ordered the Italian wedding soup she says it will be a dollar more. But, it came with the dinner. Cup of coffee was $2.79 no refills? I asked for the soup 1st & told her to wait 4-5 mins before ordering the main meal, Soup came & Soup was cold, & immediately followed was the main meal, Soup taken back & nuked by the time I got the soup finished the meatloaf was cold, heat that back up. shoe leather time. Didn't order any desert because $6.59 for a piece of Strawberry-Rhubarb pie is outrageous IN season. The otherwise crabby waitress opened up when she saw the displeasured look on my face & offered us a free desert if we bought one, just to make up for her awful service I guess... But, I hemmed & hawed & then said NO I wasn't all that hungry anymore after the experience I had with the shitty meatloaf who ever heard of putting carrot chunks inside meatloaf anyway?? No desert anyway. I left her a $.10 tip so she didn't think that I forgot her sorry butt either, will never be going back there again, 2 years ago it was nice, must have changed hands again. lousy service & the meatloaf the next day was awful & hard as a rock too.. But, it had Carrot chunks in it in typical "Greek style"...

I dont know what people see here. Everyone I talk to like this place . I went there 2x and really really disappointed both times. Me and a friend went for breakfast. I ordered hash browns and they ordered hash browns with theirs. I got mine and I could have counted how many I had, my amount was 1/4 of my friends?????? Why? My toast wasn't buttered but it was burnt real bad and I only got 1 piece, my friend got 2. WHY? My friend laughed and said they must not like me. My sister wanted to go recently I told her I dont know why I have bad luck with them. We went. She got food, It was okay. I tasted my clam chowder and it was sour rotten. Without saying anything I asked my sister to try it. She did and got mad at me for asking her to taste it. She said it was spoiled bad. I told waitress that we both agreed it was rotted and she removed it. She came back with french fries for me? (I never asked for french fries) I hate french fries. They sat there untouched. We left. They probably gave those french fries to the next person that asked for...

We usually eat at NCFR several times a month. The menu offers a large selection, plenty of parking in the back, the staff is friendly, and service is usually very good. The one thing that seems to be a bit inconsistent overall is the food. Many times it's either undercooked or overcooked. Our latest visit there on a Friday night went well, for the most part. The New England clam chowder was good but not very hot, the battered fish fry was hot and tasty, but the French Fries were barely cooked and nearly cold. I ate the fish and clam chowder. They were moderately busy during dinner, and I had trouble finding my waitress to tell her about the cold fries during the meal, so I left them on the plate. The food prices here are not what I would consider inexpensive, so we'll continue to look for other...
