The food here is more or less standard as found in all the take-out Chinese restaurants in the USA... perhaps a little lower than standard, but really not bad. What I really don't like about this place is that they don't make the order that you called in 15 minutes ago until you arrive. My feeling is that they were stiffed by too many people not showing up, so they don't make your order until you arrive.
This happened 4-5 times over the previous 2 years, and I dismissed it because perhaps they were busy. Well, on this day, they had not busy, and when I arrived 5 minutes after they said the order would be ready, they hadn't even started it. Their excuse was "We want it to be fresh". I went thru the whole Jerry Seinfeld routine that "you are good at taking the orders... but you are not good at making the orders".
So, if you are in a rush, tell them that you want the order ready when you get there, or you will just leave if it is not ready. I made this clear to them, and the cashier finally said, in very good English......

I'll start by saying, the quality of the food was great, we got everything we ordered. But I can tell they skimp where they can to save a few pennies. I've been around the world and know that the lo mein is short on veggies and the spare ribs are sprinkled with tiny ones and there were only 9 not 10 that I paid for. I get it, if you skimp a rib 10 times you can gain a whole nother meal in your pocket as profit. I noticed, I don't appreciate it and I know this wasn't a mistake it was intentional.
