Thee Diner — Restaurant in Town of Cicero

My family and I used to love this place. The past 3 times I’ve been here I’ve been disappointed. The flavored soft serves lack greatly in flavor, and the glaciers (slushie and vanilla soft serve) were a waste of money. The slushie was very melted and had no flavor at all, and there was barely any ice cream. My sister got bubblegum flavor and I got pineapple. Literally both tasted like ice. The sizes are also a complete joke. My mom ordered a small soft serve and my dad ordered a medium soft serve (both in a dish), but the medium was half the size of the small. The idea of inconsistent sizes has occured with my family multiple times. I’ve also ordered sprinkles from here multiple times and each time they’re stale. And just to add to my list of bad experiences here, I once ordered a flavor of soft serve but recieved dole whip. I can now confidently say I will no longer be wasting my money at...

The omelet here is so good. Lightly cooked and hot with American cheese was perfect. Finally, someone who knows how to cook an omelet. Got the hash browns not crispy enough but still good. Bacon was see through and over cooked. Sourdough bread was amazing and made the bacon sandwich great. Ice water with real lemons and great coffee as well. Love the setting there, listening to the old timers talk and have fun. Down to earth, great service and now the top winner with prices. Julie's and R Diner are more expensive then thee diner. I ordered two club sandwiches to go. When I opened the container I was very disappointed. They took one piece of bacon and put it on the entire sandwich, this was done to both sandwich’s. There was very little ham on the bottom of one sandwich and nothing but lettuce and a small broken piece of bacon on the top portion.

The turkey was even worse there was one small hunk of turkey in the middle of the top portion of the sandwich that you couldn’t even spread it around and nothing on the bottom but lettuce not even a small piece of bacon on the bottom.
