Ok here goes it, my first 2 star review ever, I’ve made 1 star reviews before, never a 2 star. You cannot ignore the great taste of the Jim’s famous steak hoagie…
However ladies and gentlemen, they’ve disappointed me twice so far in a 3 day span. I haven’t been to Jim’s steak out since about last year, but when I first tried it about 6 or 7 years ago… IT WAS THE BEST STEAK HOAGIE I EVER HAD PACKED WITH MEAT!! EXTRA DELICIOUS, HUGE!!! I FELT THE SAME WAY LAST YEAR, BUT NOW.. NOW, it feels like they’ve gotten very cheap, by skimping the meat..
Just a few days ago I went to another Jim’s steak out location, I ask for the famous steak out, and when I opened the sandwich I was pleased that there seemed to be plenty meat on the sandwich,.. I took a few bites and BAM, IM CRUNCHING IN TO NOTHING BUT LETTUCE AND TOMATOES WITH A SMALL LAYER OF MEAT ON THE SANDWICH.
THEY BUFFED THE SANDWICH WITH EXTRA LETTUCE AND TOMATOES TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A NICE MEATY SANDWICH :) BOY WAS I WRONG.
So today I come in, ask for light lettuce and tomatoes they did a good job there, however they were also LIGHT on the MEAT AGAIN ! What happened from last year till now!?
I NOTICED THE PRICE JUMP! WHY, FOR YEARS AFTER TELLING EVERYONE TO GO THERE, WHY ?IS IT WHEN I COME BACK FROM FLORIDA AFTER A WHOLE OTHER YEAR OF BEING YOUR YEARLY CUSTOMER OVER 7 YEARS!
AND ASK FOR THE SAME SANDWICH YOU GIVE ME HALF OF THE SAME SANDWICH AND UP THE PRICE?
now I feel as if I should warn ppl not to go, the bread to meat ratio was more bread than meat, i never had this experience with you Jim’s… Very disappointed, and now I’m hungry and want another one. Back then I could eat one at 2 and wouldn’t want to eat for the rest of the day.
It’s just been very upsetting.. after working the fair and having to overspend on food there,
then come to Jim’s with maybe a 2$ price increase since last year and half the meat… and the 12” is basically 15 DOLLARS$? I can only imagine them getting an extra skinny sandwich and eating more bread than steak…. I’m appalled I don’t know what’s going on… I don’t know what to think, I feel as if I wasted my money when I could’ve just went to an in out spend the same amount of money and actually be full. However I still was satisfied with the flavor and freshness which is why this review doesn’t deserve a one star. I just wish someone warned me about this, and that’s why I’m...
Read moreSick of wasting my money here. I have been eating chicken finger subs almost every week for atleast 12 years here. Sometimes even 3x a week because it was my favorite meal. But I stopped coming around a year and a half ago because I consistently getting cold subs. I tried ordered in person multiple time to wait for my sub fresh and even then it would come cold! What’s the deal! I found out that they precook the chicken fingers now and just wait for the orders. so you get a room temperature sub. the last few years I’ve been driving out of the way to getting my chicken finger sub fix from Johns on Campbell’s blvd because it’s literally just the same (or use to be b4 Jim started serving cold chicken fingers). tonight I didn’t want to drive the extra few mins out the way (mistake) so I decided to just give Jim’s (my old favorite spot) another chance. I spent over $20 on a combo, like always, and got served the same cold chicken finger sub that made me stop coming almost two years ago. I don’t see why they think it’s ok to charge so much just to serve cold food when people order it fresh. I’ve waisted a lot of money trying to give them chances. Disappointed. This use to be my favorite lunch/dinner spot, I use to recommend them to to people coming from out of town and to friends and family. But I decided I’m done giving them anymore chances. Best chicken finger sub my butt, atleast not...
Read moreThere should be an option to give zero stars. I came in from out of town and went to the Transit Rd. location. My son changed his order because he was unfamiliar with the menu since he doesn't live in NY. The little old lady at the drive thru window became rude and impatient and basically shoved his order in my face at the window. When we got to our families home, my son started eating his steak hoagie. Not only was it bland and tasteless, but there was a wad of hair in it on the bottom half of the sub under the meat, almost like it was put there intentionally...DISGUSTING!!!!!! I started to return it and complain but an unsatisfactory review will get the point across better. The next day I took him to the Sheridan Dr. location where the guys behind the counter were extremely friendly and professional and the hoagie was seasoned well and tasted very good. Jim's on Transit Rd, please DO BETTER! I'm originally from Bflo, but I hope others that are visiting the area avoid this location. Just go to the Sheridan Dr location, you'll be greeted properly and enjoy a great sub!
Update - hello Jim's Steakout, I just sent you an email per your request with the date and time of this unfortunate situation. Thank you for...
