Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Town of Clarkstown

We love Chipotle restaurants but this one in Nanuet was FILTHY. ✓There was garbage all over the floors, the previously used tables were dirty, the bathrooms were a mess and the counters and floors where the employees were making the food were littered with excess food and garbage. I noticed a customer dropped several straws on the floor and two employees went to that area to get a drink and neither of them bothered to pick up the straws or any of the other garbage items on the floor in that area. Sadly, it's like they're used to working in that level of mess. ✓The windows of the doors to enter and exit were filthy with handprints and other marks smeared all over the glass, doesn't look like they had been cleaned in quite a while. ✓The bathrooms didn't smell clean and they're was garbage and toilet paper all over the floors, as well as fluids in the floor all around the toilets, neither bathroom appeared to have been cleaned recently. ✓The tables and bar tops had remnants of previous customers' food and garbage all over them and one bar top had a drink and notebook and other papers all over the surface, preventing customers from sitting down to eat, no customer had sat there during our visit, so maybe this belonged to the manager? ✓The food prep area was littered with excess chopped food all over the counters and on the floor while employees worked to prep the food and serve customers. What a fall/tripping hazard these loose/disposed of food items are!

I don't say this to bash the employees, but rather to bring this to the attention of the manager and franchise owner so that the employees can be trained properly on (and use) proper cleaning protocols.

The problem with what we saw is it raises the concern about the overall safety of food handling and storage of the entire facility, not just the parts that can be seen by the public.

No one likes to dine in dirty establishments so I hope things change at this location...

Not recommended for delivery. I got delivery from here, since they had a promotion for 1 dollar delivery. I got a vegan/vegetarian burrito and it was delicious, but they needed to cook the beans more since some of the beans were hard and there wasn't enough of the plant based meat inside the burrito, instead all of it was piled at the bottom of the burrito. I also got chips with guacamole and the guacamole is delicious, but a bit thick but they were stingy with the chips and only partially filled a small paper bag that was barely enough to fill a small bowl, which was disappointing since it cost almost 5.00 bucks for the chips and guacamole and if I knew they would have been cheap about the chips, I wouldn't have purchased them. The organic tea is vegan and not sweet which was wonderful, I was able to actually taste the black tea without it being ruined by sugar. I loved the tea. The delivery did not arrive on time, and it actually took over 40 minutes to get my food so, if your hungry than, I wouldn't recommend delivery from this location ; it might be faster to get a pick up. Overall, the food was delicious, despite the fact that they rushed making the burrito, so some of the beans were like rocks and I had to take them out and the guacamole and tea was good as well, but they were very stingy with the chips, so this looks like a location that is better to pick up so you can view your food beforehand a and make certain your getting a good food portion for the price, because the burrito was small for something that cost over 10 dollars. This was first time, buying from chipotle and they didn't impress me so, I won't be buying...

I’ll never eat at this nasty place again. This place is trash, literally. And many other reviews on here are saying the same exact things. There was garbage all over the floors, tables, chairs, and the garbage bins were overflowed with food and trash everywhere spilling out onto the floor. They were either totally out of food or almost running out of food in every single section behind the counter. Also out of utensils, napkins, straws, and plastic covers for drinks. When I asked for napkins the workers seemed annoyed and handed me a couple from behind the counter, and acted the same way to another customer I saw that asked for napkins. There were also probably 8 workers there, with only 2 or 3 actually doing something while the rest chatted and stood around (even with all the work that they were behind on: garbage literally everywhere, supplies that needed to be restocked, and food they ran out of that needed to be replenished). It’s completely disgusting. These are just the things I witnessed with my own eyes, so I don’t even want to imagine how filthy it probably is behind the counter and if the staff have good hygiene. I will never come here again, and I will make sure everyone I know hears how filthy and awful of an experience it was. I read many other reviews with identical experiences, it’s a shame that nothing has changed in a long time and that this Chipotle location has learned nothing from its bad business practices and bad service. Too bad there isn’t an option...
