Honestly the worst food and service I've ever had. My mother and I always have breakfast or lunch whenever we meet up and we decided to try somewhere "new". This place was far from that. We had chicken noodle soup which had no flavor, our food came out cold. My mother ordered a grilled cheese and they gave her such a huge plate for nothing. Regardless she tried to eat it and the bread was as hard as a rock. We banged it on the table and you could hear our plates jump. I ordered $20 Chicken Parm with spaghetti and let me tell you, the chicken was so DRY it was almost like turkey breast, my spaghetti was undercooked and still that almost clear yellow color. Keep in mind our food was cold and took well over 40 min to reach our table. My mother's stomach turned and I couldn't even continue eating. We told the manager we were happy and didn't want the food remade because our stomachs had already turned and we were nauseous already, the unannounced manager ended up leaving.
Soon after we went to the front since we barely touched our food and were only going to pay for 2 coffees and 2 awful soups. This is when we found out the random lady that came to our table was the manager. She insisted we paied and even said "Your going to pay" and we said we weren't going to pay for a meal cold and so uncooked if we didn't even eat it. She ended up arguing us on this for 10+ min before she walked off and got the chef himself. They looked at our uneaten food and decided to only charge us for the soups and coffee once seeing we were right about the outcomes of our food. Just so you know, 2 coffees and 2 small tini cups of soups was $16 (she charged us soup dowl prices and we didn't notice until we left). Moral of the story I will never return to this place and highly recommend you don't either. This place is a complete rip off and they have awful manners.
Ps. From other places ive been, I've gotten fantastic Chicken Parm for less then $13 for soup, bread, a drink and desert all for...
Read moreThere is nothing good I can say about my one visit to the Nanuet Diner. My dining companion was very hungry so for that meal I didn't bring attention to the MANY faults in the food at the time. I will admit that I spoke to (manager/owner?) on the way out and he expressed that had we mentioned it, they would have happily corrected the issue, but that shouldn't be necessary. It was, however, said in kind of a "well it's your fault the food was bad because you didn't tell us to make it right" kind of way
Service was fairly slow. Our server got our order wrong (my companion asked for sausage in her omelette, the server asked if she meant as a side or in the omelette. She confirmed that she wanted it in the omelette, it came as a side and we were charged the astronomical price of $5 for two links of sausage). I knew this was wrong but she was hungry and knowing this resigned to eating the cost.
Nothing was hot. The toast wasn't warm enough to melt the butter that came on it(so they knew they were putting butter on not warm enough toast). The bacon was warm at best and although thick, was very lackluster. I ordered the eggs benedict(saw a bad review on here for that today as well, so I'd say avoid that). The eggs were overcooked yet cold, the hollandaise had no flavor, just egg yolk and butter. It already had a thick skin on it when it arrived. The homefries were bland and cold. Maybe they were busier than normal(we didn't have to wait for a table at all) but for what we received it was way below the quality I'd expect and way over priced,...
Read moreMy husband and I were driving through nanuet for a late lunch (approx 3 pm) and decided to stop for a quick bite. So regretted that we did. The table want cleaned when they seated us and that should have tipped us off, but oh well. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger deluxe and he ordered the macaroni and cheese special with a cup of chicken soup. The chicken soup tastes like salty water, and we waited an additional 30 min for the mains to arrive. The Mac and cheese looked fine, but I mentioned to the waitress that the burger deluxe also comes with onion rings which were missing. She answered no problem, and promptly returned with 2 onion rings in HER BARE HAND that she promptly dropped over my fries onto my plate. Needless to say I asked to see the manager. She returned with another server and they began to discuss the serving of the food with bare hands in front of us in Spanish. At which point I answered in fluent Spanish that yes she brought the food with her bare hands, and I don't think you're the manager. He apologized and said that he wasn't and said that he would bring us a new plate and that the manager wasn't necessary. I said it absolutely was necessary and the manager came to the table. She offered us anything on the menu gratis, which I politely refused, because if that's how the waitstaff are trained in terms of hygiene and food safety, I can't really trust your kitchen. She offered to let us into the kitchen to watch our food being prepared, but I had lost my appetite by then. Needless to say, we didn't pay for the drinks or...
