I shop at this store whenever I can. First of all, even though the store is 10 years old, it’s in pristine condition. I was amazed when I walked in one day and found an employee dusting the light fixtures. They have a huge amount of staff and they are very busy keeping the place in tiptop condition and stocking the shelves regularly. Every employee will drop anything at a moments notice and help you find a product or get it down from a high shelf. They have a really good produce section with items that I can’t find regularly at other stores. I can pretty much find Delicata squash here year-round, which we all love. They also have a vast selection of organic apples that we are always very pleased with. Their huge supplements department is staffed by a helpful employee at all times. I can go on and on. I keep kosher and find many kosher items that we need. The last time I was there I noticed that even though they stock about 20 types of Imagine soups, they didn’t have the particular one I wanted and had seen elsewhere. They immediately took my request and had it on the shelf within two weeks, and called me to let me know that it was in stock. Color me impressed.

Best place for healthy, organic, and vegetarian/vegan products in my neighborhood and beyond (I have friends who travel all the way here from NJ to shop) - be it groceries, snacks, cleaning products, supplements, skin care, wellness needs, or even just a quick lunch from their delicious hot bar or deli or sandwich and juice bar - this shop can satisfy most of your everyday needs. I also love their ethically sources selection of chocolates. The apothecary section of supplements, hair and skin care, homeopathic remedies and essential oils is separate from the rest of the store, so one must leave one's shopping cart or basket outside this area, and pay for purchases at their particular cashier. One can join their loyalty program, and get $10 off the bill when enough points have been accumulated. The store is kept clean, it naturally smells fragrant, and everyone working their is super nice and helpful.

I have shopped at this location of A Matter of Health since it opened in 2010. It was great to finally have such a large health-food store open in a convenient location in Rockland County. While I have always been happy with the variety of foods they carried, their business hours and policies, and the cleanliness of the store, I haven’t always enjoyed the shopping experience due to the less-than-friendly staff. But for the past several years, and especially since the onset of COVID, the staff has become much more friendly and accommodating. Ralph, one of the store managers, is fantastic. He is also the hardest working manager I have ever seen – I never see him stand still for a moment. Hocine, the other store manager, is also extremely hardworking, as evidenced by his strict attention to detail. Overall the employees are friendly and helpful. Charlie is an absolute doll; he knows the products like the back of his hand and has been very helpful in giving me insight as to what products might work best for me. Alex in produce is super sweet and is always available for questions as to what to look for in produce. Sharon, Reuven and Areli, who work in the supplement/cosmetic department, are spot on in their recommendations. And many of the cashiers – Arlene, Jocelyn, Johanny, Carla, Nadim - are just lovely. I truly appreciate all the efforts of the staff to make the shopping experience more pleasurable. Lastly, I truly appreciate how hard the store has worked to keep its prices down and to offer frequent sales. For anyone looking for a good, general health-food store, I definitely recommend A...

At first glance it's great. Wonderful selection of fruits and veggies that you don't normally see many places, a generous supplement section with helpful employees who sometimes know their stuff, friendly cashiers, a unique juice bar with eccentric healthy drink that may or may not taste good depending on personal taste buds, there are always guys stocking shelves which gives the impression that everything is fresh. What they don't tell you is that it's an absolute must that you check all labels on products in the entire store. It can be surprising how many are expired then sometimes they don't believe you when you return an expired item. They act as though they're being scammed because the date on the product is far off from the date of purchase. Be sure to check all veggies and fruits too... some may be green and fuzzy in places they shouldn't be. Make sure you smell the fresh made food bar to be sure it's really fresh and sometimes the pizza is undercooked and doughy. The prices are somewhat ridiculous in some areas and when an expensive item is expired, you feel like the butt of a sick joke when they give you a hard time trying to return forementioned item. They have a huge selection of things you don't normally find anywhere and are very friendly to the population that is gluten intolerant, lactose intolerant, nut allergies, vegans and just plain tofu enthusiasts. It's a fascinating place to be but I call SHENANIGANS on their plethora of...

A Matter of Health in Nanuet truly stands out for anyone serious about clean living or seeking the absolute widest array of organic and natural foods in Rockland County. The store's shelves are consistently stocked with every imaginable variation of clean, organic groceries—from fresh produce and household basics to specialty vegan options, gluten-free goodies, vitamins, supplements, and even household products. While the prices are on the higher side, reflecting the premium quality and curation, the sheer selection is second to none: it's the kind of place where you can find both the latest sought-after superfoods and trusted health brands under one roof. Service is generally decent, with staff who are knowledgeable and ready to help you locate even the most niche products. The offerings extend well beyond a typical health food store, from the full-service juice and salad bar to organic pizza and fresh-prepared foods. Whether you're after rare health products, a hot vegan meal, or high-quality skincare, A Matter of Health is unmatched for selection—making it an excellent destination for those who place a high value on organic variety and quality, even if you pay more for the privilege. Again, in closing I stress, a very good selection of organic products, you can get almost anything you want. The prices are not for people that are struggling, so be mindful if you are...
