So excited about this new place opening in Nyack. Location is great, near the Thruway exit so a good spot for locals or those coming from out of town. Easily the best Caribbean food in Rockland! We had the seared salmon with black rice cooked to perfection! The oxtail with rice and beans and sweet plantains was so good, packed with flavor. We heard other first time customers during their soft opening raving about their dishes as well. Their cocktails are fresh and cravable. A welcoming atmosphere with a big screen and a bar with 4 tv's to watch sports, plenty of tables and a lounge area with comfortable seating. They also have a slightly elevated stage for a band, DJ, comedian etc. Between their service, multi purpose cool vibing atmosphere, delicious food and cocktails this is a much needed addition to our area. The story of how the restaurant came to be and the owners is truly inspiring. Will be going there on a...
Read moreWe ordered online before the restaurant opened. Our order was due to be done by 330pm (only 30 minutes after they opened) we arrived around 340pm and our order was ready. We ordered Tassot Cabrit-Fried Goat with black rice with fried plantains, Oxtails, black rice, cabbage with sweet plantains, an order of Mac and Cheese and an order of Fried Okra. EVERYTHING was amazing. Great flavor, just enough spice and the portion size was good. My son is picky with food and he really liked the mac and cheese. Even though we ordered to take out we decided to stay and eat. They had no issues with that. Services was on point and they played great music. We were there during the day but it is a lounge and would be fitting for other types of events. Overall 5/5 for us. We will return to try other menu items. The food smelled and looked so good we forgot to take pictures. Overall very delicious...
Read moreI really enjoyed this place. It's a nice family owned restaurant and it's evident they take pride in what they serve. I found out that it's a tribute to the owner's son who passed away and loved his mom's cooking. It's clear that she's cooking for customers the way she cooked for him. The family is heavily involved in the community, offering a football camp, also in memory of Cy. It was truly an honor to support this family and I will be recommending this place to my friends and family. The food was fresh and made with love. The staff was extremely accommodating & treated us like family. I love this place and wish them all the success. Try the jerk chicken!! It's as if you're getting it right from the beach in Jamaica. This place is like a fusion of all your favorite Caribbean islands...
