Overall, the place is great, and I would definitely come back again!! But ofcourse, there were some cons which could be overlooked by some. The staff is attentive (for the most part, however it was busy so can't really blame them). Prices were a bit stiff for some items, but you're paying for quality so can't complain. The Nehari lamb Desi taco was amazing! Not much of a lamb person but it was out of this world! Chicken Tikka masala samosas were also amazing, but wish they put more of the chicken Tikka masala sauce. I say this because when you really get into the meat of it, it's a bit dry inside. With the sauce though, it was great! I didn't get to try the Chowpatty Bel Puri, but wife did. She said it was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Next, onto our entrees! I got the fried butter chicken burger! This was spot on, although wasn't a big fan of the red cabbage (but some people are, so to each their own. I'd probably do without it the next time. Beware, it's heavy stuff!!) It comes with masala fries and Thought it would be spicy but it wasnt. Actually didn't taste any masala, just regular fries (tasted good though). Lastly, got the Akbari kebab. Now, this was recommended by the waiter even though we were going to try the chicken vindaloo curry. The waiter made the Akbari kebab sound so good, so we went with that recommendation. To be honest, both my wife and I didn't like it (but that's just us) Didn't think it was worth the price of $27.00 either. The presentation of it though was great (they come out with a glass cover and it's filled with smoke, then they remove the glass cover and it's visually pleasing). For dessert, got the rasmalai sampler which was great. We also got mango lassi. Now to be honest, we weren't big fans of the mango lassi because the mango lassi here is quite tangy. Some people like it tangy and if you're one of those people, you'll like it. I think they put cardamon in it as well. Although it was only two peopl, the tip was already included (I think 20%). Not a fan of this, since I believe the tip should reflect the service. Once again, it was busy which I can understand, but we were waiting around alot. Even for a water refill, we waited so long. The owner came by and checked on us time to time which we really appreciated. He was very nice and accommodating, hearing us out and really took the time to get a conversation in, despite the busyness of the place. All in all, if there's a day where it's not busy, definitely go! They got some lunch options I'm excited to try, so really looking forward to that. I would recommend this place for sure!

This review is for Mumbai Nightmares! The food at this place has generally been good but I have decided deserves it only 1 star because of two reasons: 1) They served me RAW Chicken Tandoori and 2) the owner’s(Nausil) obnoxious and rude behavior and refusal to accept his product/mistakes. I ordered takeout for Chicken tandoori as I usually favor it but when I had it I noticed that the chicken was not fully cooked and it was still pink (see pic). This is obviously dangerous and annoying as a customer to experience this. I wrote a review for this on Yelp expressing my displeasure at eating raw chicken. One would think the owner of the restaurant would apologize and correct his mistakes. But sadly not at this place. The owner (Nausil) of Mumbai dreams is arrogant, immature and a brute. He went on a diatribe about garlic naan and some cosmic Karmic nonsense instead of accepting his faults. He also proceeded to remark on Karma and me traveling on a plane trying to imply ill will towards his customer for bringing in a genuine concern. He did not see the irony that his Karmic nonsense was giving me RAW Chicken which would put anyone in the hospital. This is despicable behavior and showing signs of bullying his customers. He refused to accept that this was his Chicken and said it was a lie. He is clearly not mature enough to take criticisms and he is a crooked liar who refuses his own product. One can see his past remarks on other 1 star reviews and his bullying behavior. It’s sad to see such behavior one can only hope he improves. Response to Owners comments: Nausil, it’s “You’re” and “axe”…… clearly you need to go back to school to learn how to spell…….and cook Chicken because you have failed! And after reading your responses it looks like you plagiarize comments too! No wonder you lack skills in cooking chicken! It all makes sense now. Anyways you have SERVED RAW CHICKEN and other customers have seen you lie and obfuscate the truth. Buy a dictionary if the words are too big for you. Since you like “colors” - White means cooked chicken and Pink means it’s still Raw! “You’re” a waste of time and energy. That’s how you use “you’re”! Good luck…..cooking chicken!

I had a really great time at Mumbai dreams recently! They are located in a small plaza with parking spots available. The restaurant is quite large with two different rooms for seating. The decor was really nice and the staff were friendly. The menu is quite extensive and they offered us 3 different food menus and 1 drink menu. Honestly it was a bit confusing because it was a specials, lunch, and normal menu and a ton of things repeated while some things you could only find on specific menus. For example chicken tikka samosa is on the regular menu, butter chicken Mac n cheese samosa is on the special menu, but there are no samosa options on the lunch menu. We ordered the lamb nihari tacos, chicken tikka masala samosa, fried chicken tikka masala sandwich with masala fries, the butter chicken Mac n cheese, and a mango lassi. We also got kheer as a free desert with a yelp check in! The tacos came with mozzarella cheese which I can’t eat so we had to ask for it off. I would have been nice to be able to sub the cheese for another, but I guess it wasn’t an option. The meat was good, very tender and flavorful. The chicken tikka samosa was beautiful in presentation but it was really dry. I’d love for it to have more sauce or some kind of dipping sauce with it. The chicken tikka sandwich and fries were fantastic. My biggest issue with this is that it comes on a brioche bun (fine for me but not for my bf bc of an egg allergy). I asked if we could sub the bun for a non-egg bun but this also wasn’t an option. It’s fine, just disappointing. The butter chicken Mac n cheese was also fantastic. The mango lassi was good and the Kheer was fine. It was good, it’s just not my particular favorite but I really appreciated that we got to try it. We also weren’t able to try the nan because they have eggs in them. This was a first we’ve had this issue with nan so I was surprised and disappointed on this as well. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed pretty much everything we got and would definitely come back!

Overall Thoughts: This is an Indian fusion restaurant with some creative dishes. The interior is large, intimate, and dimly-lit (too dimly lit, in my opinion— I had a hard time reading the menu). I thought the food was pretty good, but it fell a bit short of my expectations and was more mild in flavor than traditional Indian restaurants. It was also a bit pricey for the portion sizes. Our server recommend ordering 2 dishes per person, but you can get away with ordering 1-1.5 per person if you’re not extremely hungry. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, there are still some dishes like the Fried Chicken Tikka Masala (on their lunch menu), that I’d be interested in coming back to try. Food I tried: - Gobi Manchurian (3.9/5): This fried cauliflower appetizer was good, but the flavors were mild. I wished it were crispier and more flavorful. - Butter Chicken Mac & Cheese (3.8/5): This was pretty good, but fell short of my expectations, as it tasted pretty much just like standard mac and cheese with chicken. The butter chicken flavors and Indian spices / flair in this dish were not apparent. - Navratna Korma (4.3/5): This dish was good and flavorful with a distinct cashew / nutty taste, which was nice and umami. - Garlic Naan (4.5/5): The garlic naan was very good, flavorful, warm, and simultaneously crispy and pillowy. - Kheer (Indian Rice Pudding) (3.9/5): We got this for free for checking in on Yelp. It had strong cardamom and spice flavors, which was nice, but the flavors became a little bland and monotonous the more we ate it. — Price (relative to peers): 4/5 Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4.3/5 Service: 4.8/5 Overall Value: 4.1/5

My friends and I walked into Mumbai Dreams around 1pm on a Friday. There was one party in there aside from us, and it did not pick up for the hour that we were there. The interior is going for a more elevated ambiance, and the pricing follows that as well. We ordered chicken tikka masala ($23), chana masala ($19), chana masala basmati bowl ($14), as well as a mango and blueberry lassi ($6/each) and a prosecco ($13). For lunch, I was not expecting entree prices to be more expensive than comparable NYC entrees. Both my friend and I who ordered the chana masala ordered it mild, but there was a substantial kick. I had to order the lassi because my mouth was burning. Be warned if you cannot handle spice in regards to heat! Overall, everyone thought the food was tasty, but nothing outstanding. Service was split. There was one person who explained the specials, who was friendly and accommodating. However, our main server was curt and seemed annoyed at our presence. My friend who has been here before mentioned having a similar experience with this person. One personal issue I had was that he told me I couldn't order the basmati bowl without rice because of the way it was constructed. When my friend's bowl came out, I did not understand why the barrier was, since they could just have skipped the rice while plating? I understand it's an odd request, but I would have appreciated being shut down in a more cordial way.

Empty bar, completely empty restaurant and they turned us away?! With service like this, Mumbai Dreams is a Nyack NIGHTMARE. Boycott this place, please. We booked a reservation for 4 at 4:45 on Google, they turned us away and told us to come back at 5:15. We had to leave entirely and should have never came back at this point.. When we came back at 5:25 there was 1 table of 2 and a completely empty restaurant, the 6 people working were standing around just looking at each other and so we proceeded to ask if we could sit. The man who told us to come back earlier, acknowledged us as we waited 10 more minutes for the owner to say "our time is precious and you showed up late so we can't seat you, we have reservations at 6." We showed up at 4:45, then returned 10 min "late" after being in told to come back, Meanwhile the ENTIRE RESTAURANT was empty and we explained what happened and that our time is also important. The owner proceeded to tell us we're in the wrong and when my family got rightfully upset, told us to leave. Is this how you treat eager customers?! I don't care how good your food is, service is actually unbelievable and went from a place I frequented and recommended to a place I will NEVER return to and discourage people from going to. 0 stars.
