I’ve been a loyal customer of Prima’s Pizza for quite some time now, and let me tell you—this place has never let me down when it comes to quality, flavor, and consistency. Whether I'm grabbing a slice on the go or ordering a large pie for a cozy night in, I know I’m in for a treat. The crust is always perfectly crisp, the cheese is an indulgent layer of golden goodness, and the toppings are always fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. Every bite of Prima’s pizza is a satisfying experience, and they’ve mastered the art of pizza-making.
The atmosphere at Prima’s is always warm and inviting, with a classic pizzeria vibe that makes you feel right at home. The staff is generally friendly, and the pizzas always come out looking like a work of art. I particularly love their variety of specialty pies—there's something for everyone, whether you're a fan of traditional toppings or enjoy a more adventurous combination. The ingredients are always fresh, and I can taste the care and attention they put into every pizza. Honestly, it’s the kind of place that you know you can always count on to get a great meal.
One thing I especially appreciate about Prima’s is their consistency. It’s clear they take pride in the quality of their food, and every time I order, I know exactly what I’m going to get—great pizza. The portion sizes are generous, so it’s always a good value for your money, and I’ve never had a pizza that didn’t meet my expectations.
However, I do feel the need to mention an experience I had recently with one of the staff members, Alex Clayton. While the pizza was, as usual, absolutely fantastic, my interaction with Alex was a bit underwhelming. He seemed a bit distracted, and there was a noticeable lack of attention to the details you typically expect from a place with such great food. I understand that everyone has off days, but in comparison to the rest of the team, Alex didn’t seem to be as engaged or focused on delivering the best customer experience. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it did stand out given how attentive and friendly the other staff members were.
For example, I had to repeat my order a couple of times, and when I asked a simple question about a menu item, Alex seemed unsure and took longer than expected to respond. That kind of disconnect from the usual smooth experience at Prima’s was a bit jarring. It’s small stuff, but when you’re used to the high level of service that this restaurant typically offers, it definitely caught my attention. I wouldn’t say it was a completely negative interaction, but it wasn’t up to the high standard that I’ve come to expect from Prima’s.
That said, I’m not one to judge an entire experience based on one off moment. Alex might have just been having a bad day, and I’ve definitely had great interactions with other staff members during my visits. The pizza, as always, made up for any slight inconvenience I experienced during this particular trip. I just hope that in the future, Alex is a bit more focused on delivering that signature friendly and attentive service that Prima’s is known for.
Despite this, I will continue to come back to Prima’s because the pizza is just too good to pass up. Honestly, their pies are some of the best I’ve had, and no minor hiccup in service is going to stop me from enjoying one of my favorite meals. Whether it’s the classic Margherita, their loaded meat lovers' pizza, or one of their creative seasonal specials, I always know I’ll leave happy and full.
So, overall, Prima’s Pizza continues to be one of my top spots for a great meal, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t been yet. If you’re craving delicious pizza made with fresh ingredients, you’re definitely in for a treat. While I hope that the service can be a little more consistent moving forward, especially in terms of attentiveness from staff members like Alex, I’m confident that the team at Prima’s will continue to serve up some of the best...

2023 Review - We've been patrons of Prima Pizza for almost 25 years. This evening, my sister wanted their pizza so we called in and she ordered 3 Sicilian pizzas,1 small plain and 2 large with 4 toppings. The 1st thing that happened, was that the person who answered the phone told us that there were 3 sizes of sicilian pizza ... small, medium & large. She didn't know what was on the menu. We're ordering and she's asking, if that on the menu? 😑 Anyway, we got to the establishment and picked up 3 pizzas, all which were large 🤔 after being told there were 3 sizes. When we get to the restaurant, the total for the 3 pizzas was $100. 😮 So, we thought that was really expensive but, it was fine. We knew for the future. When we got home, we realized that some of the toppings were missing from 1 large pizza. And I mean the meat, veggies, and it had banana peppers which my sister is allergic to (she ordered bell peppers). For a pizza that was $40+ plus, we needed ALL OUR CORRECT toppings. My sister went back to the restaurant & told them that the pizza was wrong. At this time, the pizza maker....bc he definitely wasn't a chef... starts arguing with her that what is on her pizza is bell peppers, not banana peppers and that that is the only pepper they have. Mind you, my sister ordered food from them a few days ago w/... you guessed it, bell peppers! Therefore, you have it. Pizza maker doesn't know the difference between banana peppers and bell peppers and continues to argue that the banana peppers on the pizza were actually bell peppers. The manager on staff asked him to make it over. 🙏🏾 We wait 15 minutes outside while he prepared a new pizza. My sister goes back in to get the new pizza and the manager on staff told pizza man that the pizza is raw and to put it back in the oven to cook. At this point, he started arguing again that the pizza is done. 😮 Wow! Really? My sister said she had no problem waiting because she wanted her pizza well cooked. She finally got her pizza & traveled 20 minutes back home only to discover the pizza was sloppily made 😡. It looked like the toppings were thrown into the box and some animal decided to do the electric slide across the pizza! Additionally, the toppings 🤦🏾♀️ ... There was a disgusting HUGE piece of onion skin in her pizza?! Now, she's over it and calls the restaurant to let them know that she wants a reimbursement and that she is going to go back to the restaurant again to show them their work! Pics attached. The "manager" said she couldn't do a reimbursement and would give her gift certificate. Aren't you the manager? Nah! Keep the nasty pizza. We don't want it! 3 you messed up. Good customer service would have been to have reimbursed her for at least the 1 pie that was consistently an issue. Thankfully my sister paid with her card so was able to be refunded $43 for the 1 of the nasty pizzas. We had to go there 3 times.... and then to have the staff argue with you and you're right. 🙄 Learn your vegetables before you open your mouth. 😒 I'm so disgusted! This is definitely not the same restaurant of the past. Oh and the excuse is that the young kids chop the vegetables and they apparently didn't do a good job. Really? Miss me! It's called training! We'll have never visit this establishment again! It's...
Read moreIf I could give Prima Pizza more than five stars, I would. This place is a holy temple of flavor, a shrine to the almighty pizza, a culinary experience that will redefine your very existence. From the moment you step inside, you’re hit with the intoxicating aroma of fresh-baked dough, simmering tomato sauce, and perfectly melted cheese. It’s like being embraced by an Italian grandmother who whispers, “Eat, eat! You are too thin!”
The crust? Perfection. Crisp on the outside, airy and soft on the inside, with just the right amount of chew. The sauce? A revelation. Bursting with the kind of rich, tangy sweetness that could bring a tear to your eye. The cheese? Oh, the cheese! Melted to absolute gooey, stringy bliss, blanketing the pie in a golden, bubbling embrace. Every topping is fresh, generously portioned, and bursting with flavor. Whether you’re a purist sticking to the margherita or an adventurer diving into their truffle prosciutto masterpiece, every bite is an out-of-body experience.
The service is now, finally, flawless. The staff is warm, inviting, and clearly passionate about the food they serve. They treat you like family, making sure you have everything you need, anticipating your desires before you even realize them yourself. And—perhaps most importantly—they’ve made the bold and brilliant decision to part ways with Alex Clayton.
Yes, Alex Clayton: the dark cloud that once loomed over this otherwise shining establishment. His presence used to be the only blemish on an otherwise perfect dining experience—an embodiment of apathy and irritation, wrapped in the guise of customer service. But no more. Prima Pizza listened. They took action. They did what many thought impossible: they fired Alex Clayton.
And let me tell you, the difference is night and day. The energy in the room has lifted. The vibe is brighter, the service smoother, the joy of the meal no longer interrupted by an eye-roll or a forgotten drink order. It’s like a cursed amulet has been cast into the sea. Prima Pizza has freed itself—and us—from the tyranny of subpar service.
So should you go to Prima Pizza? Without hesitation. Now that the last shred of negativity has been swept out the door, this place stands as the undisputed champion of New York pizza. A beacon of cheesy, saucy brilliance in a world sorely in need of it.
Five stars. Would sell my soul for another slice—now served...
