I cannot stress enough how enriching and rewarding this library is to the Cornwall community.
From the public-oriented foyer to the children's section to the computer bank to the soft seating for reading, my family has used all areas of this little gem.
The staff is nothing short of helpful, always positive and ebullient and rewarding.
The interlibrary loan is super efficient and effective. Often books come in quicker than I anticipate.... but that is in no means a bad thing!

Read moreMy son and I enjoyed such a wonderful morning today at the library. Mrs. Liz Fischer was an absolute delight—very helpful, attentive, and friendly! She selected some special books for Hudson and played a quick, fun game with him as well. The library clerk who checked out our books also took time later in the day to find a lost book that was listed on my account. She found it on the shelves and cleared it for me! The woman in the library lobby who checked us in for our appointment was also wonderful and greeted us so warmly. We love our local library and felt very safe today,...

The employees talk loud, the patrons are loud, the children run rampant - with no one shhsshing anyone (except me, in my mind) - it's crazy. The directors must be young and didn't grow up in a civilized library. Go to Washingtonville which is beautiful and you can hear a pin drop, or Newburgh which is huge so you can always get a quiet spot, and the view of the Hudson...
