Out here from ri on a weekend vacation with my boyfriend, The resort we were staying at had us waiting over 40 mins for breakfast so we decided to go out for breakfast instead , ending up here . It was closer to lunch so I got lunch but my boyfriend got breakfast still . 3 things I had an issue with, I asked for marinara for my onions rings (very normal in ri to dip anything in marinara even fries) and asked for the tomatoes on my sandwhich to be replaced with onion instead . She said ok walked off came back and served us pur food and then walked off again . Automatically I call her back because my marinara is missing and she says "oh we only give marinara if you get the mozzarella sticks" I said well you should have told me that I would've ordered the mozzarella sticks just so I can have the sauce for my onions rings but now the food is here and I don't want to wait for mozzarella sticks just for sauce while my food gets cold so I ate it as is.. then I notice they removed the tomatoes like I asked but never replaced it with the onions , I was even missing the pickle that it said comes on the side of the sandwhich which I also wanted and Homefries with my boyfriends breakfast had not a ounce of seasoning on em , just bland.. I'm just glad to know that I won't come across this...

Unfortunately the worst breakfast I've ever eaten in a restaurant. I adore breakfast food, and this was really disappointing. I had eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes, coffee, water. First, there is something wrong with their water filtration as the water and coffee both tasted like exploded firework. Undrinkable. Second, the potatoes were under-boiled, being hard in places. Under-fried, no crispness whatsoever. They were over-seasoned, maybe to cover up the strange aftertaste, perhaps from bad fry oil. The bacon was flabby and reminded me of the microwavable stuff. The toast, ok. The eggs were by far the best part.

It just seemed to be lacking any care or love in preparation.

The wait staff was nice. The place was clean.

I could imagine the highly reviewed egg sandwich being better than what I had. But coffee that poor is...

This morning, I had to take out one of my sellers while we were waiting for an inspection to be done on her home so we decided to have a lovely little breakfast. She knew of this great little place and now I do too. Our server was awesome and amazing. He cracked me up when I asked him. What was the difference between the toast and the bagel gluten-free? Lol and he very comically responded well one spread and one’s a bagel. I think it’s obvious. lol it’s a good thing I wasn’t drinking because I would spit it out. I should have been more specific and asking are they both white bread or is there other options other than white bread such as multigrain etc. He cracked me up. Made me laugh all day. Great place. Definitely will...

We came here for breakfast and were honestly disappointed. I ordered a Caesar salad, but it was drowned in store-bought dressing and didn’t taste good at all. My husband had an omelet with just three small pieces of meat, and unfortunately the meat didn’t taste fresh. On top of that, the only black tea option was Lipton, which felt cheap for a café. Service was also slow, even though the place wasn’t busy. Overall, the food quality and service really need improvement.

I am in Callicoon for the first time. Out of my 7 days stay, Callicoon Cafe is the best taste of the small town. Omelette tasty, great coffee. I mean great. Awesome service. Great atmosphere. I am half way on my plate and coffee. I don’t even know care abou the cost. I decided to write this review. I am all the way from Ottawa, Canada. You should stop here as I did. 😁😄

We stopped here 2 mornings in a row. They have GREAT coffee! The place is very nice & open & clean & every single one of their staff was friendly & attentive. Their omelets are excellent. Cubed homefries were not deep fried, made the old fashioned way. And I love gravy on them, their brown gravy was homemade & SO delicious. Callicoon is a nice little town.
