My sister and I came in for a quick bite before a concert we were seeing nearby at Bethel Woods. The atmosphere is so cozy and we were immediately greeted by a friendly bartender and hostess. We decided to sit outside which was lovely and our hostess asked if we were going to the concert. I thought that was so considerate, and she advised we had plenty of time but just don’t order the pork chop because it takes longer lol. Super helpful. We had such a hard time deciding on what to order since everything looked incredible. Our server was so attentive and on top of everything. We wound up ordering the flank stank and the salmon and sharing. Both were amazing…but the best part was the fresh tomato salad that was served with the steak (which I found out were local and sourced at the farmers market across the street…and they did not disappoint), as well as the fresh greens and the perfectly cooked braised kale. The flavors and quality of the food were outstanding and the service and atmosphere were perfect. We both said that we’d make the drive up to eat here again even if there was no show after. It was absolutely lovely and I highly recommend stopping in.

2025 UPDATE!! Creek House Grill is a hidden gem in Callicoon. The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and the staff make you feel right at home. Karen and John go above and beyond—every visit feels special. Highly recommend! First time that we were here. They’ve been open for about two years now. We stay at the Villa Roma and we decided to give this place a try on a Sunday evening. The food was absolutely amazing and extremely fresh. The waitress was the owner and she was beyond helpful and friendly, and enjoyed our conversation, the food was fast and very tasteful. Everything is homemade from scratch, including their signature sauces. This will definitely be a place that we go to in our future visits to the Villa Roma.

Went here for dinner with my family while staying at Villa Roma. Everything we ate was so delicious. And we really loved the feel of the space and deck outside. We had the unbelievably ginormous Bavarian pretzel, French onion soup, and tomato burrata salad to share. We couldn’t get enough of it. A majority of us had the braised short rib for dinner. More would have had the pulled pork sandwich but they unfortunately ran out already which must have meant it was the best so we will definitely have to go back to try it. Needed to add a small amount of salt to the short rib but it was perfection once added. I’d definitely recommend dinner here anytime.

What a great place! Delicious food and atmosphere (we sat outside), but even more notable was the “vibe”. From the minute we walked in the door, we felt the hospitality and warmth of our “server” Karen. I put “server” in quotation marks because Karen is more than just an employee, she happens to be one of the owners. Her Irish charm and humor radiated not only with our group of 4, but with every customer she interacted with. Now on to the food. The Chilled Tomato and Dill soup was to die for! Fabulous. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with fries and coleslaw. The chicken was crispy on the outside, and moist and juicy on the inside. My wife had the Fig and Brie Flatbread with arugula. Again, delicious. The only critique she had with that, and it is minor, is that there was too much arugula on top. Not a big deal because she simply pushed the excess aside. The finale was dessert; a chocolate bread pudding topped with a bourbon sauce and a dollop of whipped cream. Outstanding! Our food was prepared with care, thoughtfulness, and pride. We personally love the fact that the chef insists on “no substitutions” from the menu. You can tell that he puts his heart and soul into his cooking, and he wants to share his vision for that dish. As we were getting ready to leave, Karen was at our table, and I mentioned that the Google reviews that I read were accurate. Not only was the food outstanding, but her warmth and graciousness could be felt everywhere. She (jokingly) said that “Good, because I write all the reviews”. Not true! As we left the building, I turned to my wife and said that I want to come back here in September to celebrate my 65th birthday. We’ll see you Labor...

Our recent visit, on a Wednesday at 5pm with two other tables seated after us and served entree’s before us, left us thoroughly unsatisfied. Despite ordering 2 salads, soup, and a black bean burger, we were made to wait for an astonishing 40-45 minutes after placing our order. When my friend inquired about the delay, we were met with an incredibly rude attitude from the host/manager, which was completely uncalled for. They pointed at my food saying ‘we had to cook this.’ Like my meal was the problem (a vegetarian burger). As we decided to cut our losses and pack up our food due to the poor service, the owner made an appearance, only to shift the blame and show no accountability for the extensive wait time. It’s disheartening to witness such unprofessional behavior from the staff and management. We paid for our meal and even left a generous tip, but the overall experience left a sour taste in our mouths. As long-time residents actively engaged in the community, it’s disappointing to be treated in this manner, especially since we are not tourists looking for a one-off experience. We hope that the restaurant can address these issues and improve the quality of service for its loyal patrons, other reviews show long wait times occurring frequently as well, these are probably also...
