Just had a great meal and awesome tour at the newly reopened Western Hotel. We sat in the dinning room in front of a beautiful hearth with a warm fire on the first day of April. The building is being carefully restored (there's lots of work to do), clearly a labor of love. It may not return to it's 1850s glory really soon but part of the allure of Callicoon and this area (we're from Philly and North Branch, is that it isn't overly refined and it's shabby retro shabby chic (yes two shabbys). Not that the Western is shabby it's not. Our meal was excellent and well rounded, we had steak frites, catfish, and chili and an amazing quinoa grain dish, warm with roasted and varied veggies in just the right proportions, with a beet puree and tahini sauce (OK so I'm not a restaurant critic and I didn't pay close attention because that's not what hanging in the Catskills is all about it's just about hanging and chilling, eating well, checking out the shops, and flea markets, farmers markets and most importantly living close with nature.) The kids were happy with the mac & cheese and steak which I was happy with too. We asked for a tour by Irene and she showed us the ballroom and some rooms. Really incredible space. Irene and the waitstaff were...

As a Callicoon resident I couldn’t be happier that The Western Supper Club and Inn is right here at my doorstep! Especially as they are one of the rare places open on a Monday !

The food and beverages are very good, I’ve had most things on the menu and am partial to the fried buttermilk chicken sandwich! although everything they make is fresh, tasty and lovely to look at. They have an amazing bar program but their prices are still affordable. Also the staff are really sweet and friendly. They usually have live music at the weekend on a small stage outside but plenty of room for seating & eating. It’s just a super quaint and all around great restaurant experience. Oh and there is a really cool billiards room my friends and I like to play in!

I also had need to stay at the Inn while some work was done on my home last minute and was accommodated which was a huge relief! I found the rooms to be really airy, clean and peaceful, there’s an awesome mix of romantic historic feel and modern at the western. It’s also very convenient to walk around town, literally across the street from shops, grocery, cafe, restaurants and has a view of the Catskill mountains from every window.

Highly recommend to all types, upstate foodies,...

There were 5 of us for dinner on a Saturday night. The atmosphere of the place was very neat. The wait for our food was very slow. Don't know if, they were extra busy because the restaurant across the street was closed, due to an event, but it seemed the staff was overwhelmed (only two servers for the whole restaurant). This was a Saturday night around 5:45 pm. Two of our party members started with the French Onion soup which must've been sitting before it came out, because it was lukewarm at best. They would've sent it back, but the waitress was nowhere to be found. The burgers were very good. Tasty, fresh, and hot. The Buttermilk chicken sandwich was also good, but needed some seasonings and additional condiments, which we asked for, but never got. It was a cozy place, and we might give it another shot, as it could've been that they were short staffed. But there are a few other placed in the area we would...

We desperately needed a room due to camping vehicle trouble and we scored here! The Innkeeper was friendly and hooked us up with the last room available. The room was nice medium sized, clean, with private bathroom, AC. Very comfy bed, bedding and pillows. Shampoo/Conditioner/soap/blowdryer included. Located in downtown Callicoon — with restaurants and cafes in walking distance. The hotel itself is a historical structure and has a lot of interesting features. We were pleasantly surprised that we could afford a last minute room — it was reasonably priced!

What a beautiful place!!! We were greeted warmly and promptly. The bar had a very friendly feel, like everyone knew each other. The build is beautifully renovated. Each room having it's own look and feeling. The main dining room has a fireplace focal point that is beautiful. Every window has its own scene that's nicely designed. The white diningroom is feminine and airy with a wall of windows. The pool room however, is like stepping back in time. So incredibly cool. I enjoyed my brief stay.
