I normally don't like to give negative reviews based on issues with attitude, because I understand that sometimes, work can be exhausting (especially in a tourist area) and someone can simply be having a bad day...however, our experience here was so negative, that I feel compelled to write about it, in hopes that changes will be made.
My good friend was visiting me in the area, and I wanted to take him to get a good sandwich. We were there at 2:30, so they were getting ready to close, but still had 1/2 hour left before closing. When we entered, it took what felt like eternity to have anyone help us, and only because I had to say "excuse me," to get the attention of the cluster of staff that were all grouped together, talking right in front of us, behind the counter. They clearly knew that we were waiting.
Their responsive tone was very rude and one replied "yeah we'll be right there." We then waited even longer. I put my order in, which took a long time, and the staff member argued with me when they went to serve me the wrong cream cheese, stating that I said it was the other type of cream cheese that I ordered, which they misheard me and I knew what I asked for, as you have to be specific when saying "tofu" cream cheese when you are dairy-free. They hadn't even scooped it yet, I stopped them before doing so. So why are you arguing with me?
After my order, the staff member rang me up and then pushed my bag towards me, looking away to help the next customer. My friend was still waiting there for 10 minutes to put in his order. I felt so much hostility, that I had to wait outside while my friend was waiting to be served. When he came out, he said that that was the rudest he was ever treated at an establishment and continued to explain that there were a couple of young adult customers ordering inside that they were practically yelling at.
This type of treatment is despicable and warrants a refusal of patronage from the local people as well as tourists until...
Read moreGot bagels from Goldberg’s and they accidentally charged me almost $400. When I went back to fix it with them I was treated so poorly for THEIR mistake. Oh, and they still charged me for the bagels. Not a single sorry was said. The woman at the cash register was somehow blaming me for HER mistake. They told me I should have come back the day before except when I called they answered the phone and put the receiver down so the line has now been busy for 24 hours straight. The woman at the register publicly shamed me for a mistake she made and refused to give me a refund directly to my card even after I explained that I was now at my credit limit for her mistake. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. I should not be in tears for trying to get a refund. The bagels...
Read moreI wanted to write this specifically to thank Michael who works at Goldbergs wainscot. Yesterday I went in for a breakfast bagel sandwich (delicious, classic, and quick as per usual) and on my way out I dropped my wallet. 30 minutes later when I realized it was gone I called in and Michael who worked there told me he found it outside and would find a way to get it back to me. I told him I wouldn’t be back til 8pm that night and he said no worries and met me in town later that night. Thank you Michael. It really made me realize that there are good people all around us. Like Michael the rest of the Goldberg’s staff is always friendly and the bagels are always...
