La Capannina — Restaurant in Town of East Hampton

As we were in the area for the Hampton Classic, we were looking forward to supporting the locale businesses. Unfortunately, some of the dishes we ordered were not good. The two orders of linguini and clam sauce had raw garlic that was not properly cooked and the dish was reported as overall being "tasteless". This was very disappointing. As well, the chicken parmigiana was over cooked. The chicken was dry and simply covered up with sauce and cheese to try and compensate. This was not appreciated by the recipient. The rigatoni bolognese was good as were the two orders of fried calamari. The cannoli was fine as well, although it got turned upside down during transport. Sometimes it can be common practice for restaurants to send food items that are below standard when filing takeout orders. Mostly because there is no recourse. Hopefully if this is their practice, this review will deter them from that practice...

I miss the old style buffalo chicken. I’ve been eating here for about 15 years with the exception of the past three years, but I recently visited again. The buffalo chicken pizza is not the same. They make it a different way. I strongly recommend bring back the old style. It was so flavorable and so much more delicious. I can’t really taste the hot sauce and with the old style the way the hot sauce and the blue cheese came together was just so incredibly delicious. I used to rave about it all the time to everybody. Now it’s the style of the other pizza places which isn’t that good. I think you used to pool a little bit of the hot sauce and the blue cheese in several spots along the pie for each slice where is there’s just the chicken slightly coaded in the hot sauce and now lines drizzled of blue cheese. My favorite pizza place on the whole planet! I especially love their Margarita Pizza ❤️ I love pizza with thin crust and theirs is the best! Ever since I moved out of the area, I've missed eating here dearly! Anytime I'm back in the area, I'll go out of my way to get food here! The food is amazing and the people are super friendly! I just ate here the other day and my friend I took with me from high school took 2 bites and had to stop to thank me very much for reminding her about this place! She took another bite before telling me that she hasn't been there since before she could drive.
