So I typically don’t do this, I love taste of Asia I have gone and always gotten Mia and she is so so so sweet the food is ALWAYS on point as it was tonight but tonight on 1/17/24 this one girl with black curly hair and was Caucasian I have not seen before, was our waitress. We knew exactly what we wanted upon being greeted so she received our whole order the moment we sat down. She took awhile to bring our water which we were okay with because it was busy, the kitchen staff are the ones that brought us our appetizers and even entrees. We did not receive any napkins or silverware even after we got our appetizers but it was just crab Rangoon so we were like whatever it’s fine we use chopsticks so after we received our entrees as she was walking by we were like hey can we please get chopsticks she literally tosses only one set of chopsticks and there was two of us. So I had to get up and ask the sushi chefs for another set. She did not give me my soup and salad either which when Mia got back from her break I had to ask for everything that was missing and Mia definitely uplifted our service experience in that moment then about 5 min later the other girl brought us my soup and salad Togo and said sorry I forgot, and that she will be right back with check. She never asked us ONCE if we needed anything else Then hovered over us while we were trying to get cash in order. We did not tip her as she only brought us our water and that bag of Togo stuff that I’m sure Mia put together for her. She stated as we were leaving that we stiffed. Of course we did. Also she was speaking to another table behind us badly about the owners of the restaurant stating she just gets “left alone” and that she had a son and named her after her dead sibling that overdosed on drugs, that table felt uncomfortable and that really upset me due to the fact that my 8 yr old son was with us. Will be back just making sure that the owners become aware of her terrible attitude she doesn’t deserve...
Read moreArriving around 3pm on a Tuesday,, the restaurant was very empty. We were able to pick where we wanted to sit so if course we opted for a booth. The menu has selections from chinese to thai to Japanese. We opted for Thai ginger chicken with rice and veggie pad thai. Both came out around 10 minutes or so and both were nicely plated.
The portion size was very generous with the thai ginger chicken coming with plenty of chicken and vegetables. I didn't taste much ginger though but overall, very flavorful and went great with the rice. The sauce was all at the bottom so by the time you got to the bottom of the dish, everything became a bit too salty for my liking.
The pad thai was a bit too sweet and saucy. Other than that, the flavor would of been nice and savory.
Overall, staff were friendly and came to check on us a few times. There are quite a few tables inside so I can see it getting quite busy...
Read moreWhat an amazing addition to Elmira, this is a solid step above ANY Asian restaurant in the area. The service was great too. I had the Thai ginger beef dish, my wife had the nabeyaki udon soup. Mine was very flavorful and the ginger gave just enough spice. It was the kind of spice that adds flavor instead of taking away from the dish. It came with steamed rice. We also had the French Dragon Roll as an appetizer and the Eel on it tasted amazing! That was my first time really enjoying sushi, I never liked it before. I liked it this time because of how fresh it tasted and the myriad of flavors that were packed into one small bite. This food is FRESH. Nothing tasted frozen besides the red bean ice cream lol. Which was also very delicious (also my first time trying it) and the Japanese soda was great too, kind of...
