The Sub Shop — Restaurant in Town of Horseheads

I heard great things about this sub shop when they first opened. So, of course I had to give them a try. I've gotten two subs from there over the last year. The first one was very good. I ordered the giant Italian sub. It has a good amount of meat on it. The roll was good. The veggies were fresh. The one major complaint I have is they use chopped onions, instead of thinly sliced onions. Chopped onions just don't belong on a submarine sandwich, in my opinion .The second time I got a submarine sandwich from here. I was a little disappointed in it.. It didn't have the same amount of meat in it as the first one and had too much lettuce. It tasted good though. My search for a truly great Italian...

Wife and I love this place, we always order a spartan sub, best subs in Elmira in our opinion. If we have one gripe it's not really a gripe but something the owner should look at, the sub roll is hohum how about a fancier type bread to go with the awesome ingredients? A crisper crust type semolina and sesame seeds would be a fantastic option even for a bit more in price. Today the tomatoes on the sub are super ripe dark red so succulent just amazing. I am going to start by saying that I have been a lifelong patron of the Southside Sub Shop. I had been seeing a lot of very positive reviews on Facebook about the Heights Sub Shop. Well I decided to go and try it for myself, I talked to the very personable staff that was working. They helped me out and suggested a couple sandwiches, I went with the Italian and the Spartan. I did not go wrong, everything was fresh and delicious. They were the most Amazing sandwiches I have ever had. They have definitely changed me.
