We have visited this place three times in the past 4 months or less. Each occasion we ordered the same thing, even though their prices are absolutely ridiculously high, like everything else. The 1st and 2nd time we ordered, food and service was 5 stars. The best sheet grilled buffalo chicken pizza and hot wings we've ever had. Now we have a gathering to celebrate our mothers (Sat afternoon, early evening) and the pizza and wings were the worst we've ever had. Both the pizza and wings were very DRYYYY. We called to tell them and they were very nice and offered to redo our order and let us keep the dry pizza.
We went back and the next one was worse than the first. The replacement pizza was overcooked, instead of grilled chicken they used breaded chicken and it wasn't dry but all I tasted was oil and burnt crust from the breaded chicken, not sure if they added the buffalo wing sauce this time either. The chicken wings were not well done, as requested, but very saucy. The real problem with the wings were that some of the wings looked ripped apart and dug through to where you could see the bone. They obviously didn't like that we were unsatisfied. Now we have two sheet pizzas and 40 wings. We picked out the bad looking wings (about 5-7 pieces).
Most kids that chose the grilled chicken pizza ate theirs. The breaded chicken, the few that chose to eat it, didn't finish a single slice. Keep in mind this is a sheet pizza and their slices are small squares. I air fried a lot of the chicken and added some hot sauce to mine and it tastes fine but a few other people complained of a soapy, weirded taste before spitting it out. A lot of food was thrown out and a lot more was left behind. No one asked for seconds but only 1 ate everything on his plate, 2 slices of pizza (one of each) and no chicken. He said, "It's better than Little Caesars". That started a debate.
Now the differences in the experiences buying from Marks Pizza: The 1st 2 times we ordered by phone - cost $75 The last time we ordered online and used a coupon code - cost $63
The 1st two times we arrive for pick up - quiet calm, steady flow of customers The last time we arrived for pick up (for both, the online order and replacement order) - lots of young staff members hanging out at the back door. Steady flow of customers dining in and picking up orders.
I personally would have gotten my money back instead of getting a replacement order but my husband was so excited to have our family experience Rochester's best pizza. It's sad and disappointing being as expensive as it was and we still have most of both pizzas left over and at least 1/2 the chicken wings. Our family of 5 usually would eat more than half in one day and have just enough leftovers for breakfast. A party of 15 and we have food left! Plus we offered people who popped in, they decline by looking at it. We offered people to take some home with them and they declined. IN ALL MY 43 years, THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE!! No one took any home and we have, not one, but 2 sheet pizzas and wings left. How do you leave a party hungry?
So embarrassing but I understand because I almost puked after eating a piece of the overcooked, breaded chicken, oil pizza when I tried the next day (today...
Read moreMark's Pizza is a staple of the local restaurant business. You can dine in, take out, get delivery, and order online. Personally I like to order online because of the huge array of customization options. There are so many options regarding pizza preferences available to select from it's almost mond boggling, but they have it organized in an intuitive format. Another great reason to sign up for an account is that you will get Mark's rewards with every purchase, which can be redeemed for quite a few different things. After only two purchases, you can get a free dessert. Mark's allows you to get different sauces or and thicker crusts without an upcharge on the online ordering platform, and that is huge for me. (This is true as of February 2025, and has been for as long as I remember.) They are also about 10 to 15 percent less expensive than Salvatore's Pizza overall, and if you make good use of their highly visible coupon codes, the savings really add up. My favorite is MEDWS, which gets you a free medium cheese pizza with the purchase of a large two or more topping pizza. With delivery and tip, that deal comes out to just about $40....
Read moreHaving just recently moved to the Rochester area, I only saw the advertisement for MARK'S PIZZERIA on TV. Said to my wife, "that's a pizza we have not tried yet." I Googled the restaurant and found a shop only 1.5 mi away. I went in to the store, ordered, and waited for my order to be cooked. When ready, took it home, and began to enjoy and really study how it was made. First; It was a FANTASTIC PIZZA! Second; Crust was cooked through, but not burned. The ingredients were plentiful, (and evenly spread/placed) and most importantly, it was HOT 🔥!! The gentleman at the front counter who took my order and served me, VERY POLITE, and COURTEOUS. I asked if the store had a "take out menu", he found one on a table behind the front counter and gave it to me. The comment the gentleman said prior to my walking out was awesome, "Welcome to the Rochester area to you and your wife, and I hope you enjoy your pizza, and we see you again." I only wish I got his name to recognize him in this write-up. Young man, as I said, the pizza was fantastic and YES, you will being seeing me again.. (I...
