Where do I start? Oh, service. So, I made a reservation to Barringer's in Fish Creek and expected great service because I read the reviews and they're pretty good. I picked the place because I read good things about their lobster bisque and their steak and seafood. Plus, the price is a bit high end, something you'd see at a Gordon Ramsey stakehouse in Vegas. So I was expecting service and food to be high end as well. But nope! It started with service, I always believe that service will make or break it for me. And this restaurant failed miserably. We came in and there was a guy on the phone, another server looking for something, and a woman who i assumed to be the maitre d' who just welcomed a lady ahead of us with great warmth (i assumed she knew her or maybe a dear friend or something). So we stood by the entrance hoping to get greeted or acknowledged or anything. Waited...another server walked over...waited...waited....oh here comes the maitre d' maybe she'll greet us...waited...waited...nothing for about 10 minutes of standing by the door. None of the people even said hello, no eye contact, just totally slighted us. I was ready to leave when the maitre d', who i think might be one of the owner (maybe), finally said hi and asked how can she help. I mean, I think i dressed well enough for a dinner, i didn't look like i'm there to pick up a doordash order. So, i told her of my reservation. She looked at the monitor, saw my name, and said "yeah follow me". And went totally downhill from there. She sat us in a corner near the employees' exit, skimpy table with an unlit candle...away from everybody. I know, i could have asked to be sat somewhere else but i was already flustered with the unattention i felt like i will ruin everbody's dinner if i said something. So we sat, and waited....waited...waited. i felt like everytime i am ready to go, the staff will sense it and send somebody over. And we had what we think was a new server, who tried his best to serve us (i appreciated that), but did not meet the expectations this restaurant is supposedly proud to offer. We saw other servers who are attentive to their tables, maybe because they're serving older and affluent looking patrons, who they probably think will tip them well. Hey, I'm a 20% tipper if you deserve it. Maybe we should have worn ball gowns so this restaurant will serve us better. Long story short, service is hellish. I had to ask for everything that should already be standard on a proper steak house. It took forever to get what we ask for. We felt totally discriminated, maybe because we look younger than the rest of the people eating there. And i hope the owner looks at their receipts because i wrote a note on how bad we were treated at that restaurant. The food is okay. Their lobster bisque is meh (almost bitter because of too much nutmeg). The salmon is good but the veggies looked like they are slapped on the plate. The pork chop is alright, needs more seasoning. The mashed potatoes tasted like it's out of a box. One good thing about this place is the serving size...the plates are big. Oh, i tried their brussel sprouts and it was good. It was extra good when i snacked on my left overs in my hotelroom. That's all i can say about the food. Mediocre at best. If you are going to Barringer's make sure you dress to the nines, wear lots of jewelries, and maybe be caucasian so you'll get great service. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

Hmm. Stopped for some dessert and coffee mid afternoon. Bad idea. Not a thing was right: 1) Carrot cake was dropped off at our outdoor table in a box. That’s all.Just a box of cake. 2) went to get plastic utensils and a glass of water ourselves—no problem. 3) Waited no less than 8-10 minutes for our coffee. We thought they were brewing fresh. He forgot. 4) Delivered 2 cups of coffee—had to wait again for cream. 5) Again after a bit of a a wait, I walked in to get cream from the kid’s hand as he came to deliver it to us but it was sweetened. 6) Husband went in and asked for regular cream. The kid said “we don’t have that.” My husband said “yes you do. Go ask.” He came back with cream. 7) husband wanted ICE water. Asked at bar and bartender pointed to the side of the patio. My husband said, “can I have ice please.” Received. 8) All of this for $16. 9) no refills on coffee offered. That’s it. We’re gone. They can have their white tablecloth expensive dinners. Maybe when they start to care about PEOPLE—we’ll be back. I don’t want to throw the young kid under the bus (maybe he’s the owner’s son) but maybe he should spend less time on his phone?

We planned a trip to DC a couple weeks ago so I decided we should try another new restaurant. One of the reasons we wanted to try it is because they also own Rye in Appleton. Glad we decided to go. Everything was great. Food and service perfect! I ordered a mojito with a vanilla flavor to it which was great. They brought fresh warm bread and homemade whipped garlic butter that was delicious. Hubby ordered the chicken Alfredo which had amazing flavor. They flour/season and pan fry the chicken like their delicious Marsala dish at Rye which is to die for. I had the 8 oz filet medium which was also delicious! For my side I chose truffle peppardelle pasta and Parmesan cheese. The steak was perfectly seared on all sides and I chose such poivre sauce which was amazzzzzzzing! Will definitely go back!

I have been to Barringer’s twice over the course of a few years, and I can say with confidence that it is my favorite restaurant in fish creek. This restaurant is great for a night out, or a nice lunch. With its clean and quiet atmosphere, accommodating staff, and great food, I recommend Barringer’s to anybody in fish creek.

Barringer’s is a very nicely maintained restaurant. Both of the times that I have been here, the place was almost spotless. The lighting is great and makes a bright happy feel to the place. The inside of the restaurant has a modern feel to it. The bathroom is very clean, which is nice as most restaurants do not care about their bathrooms. All of the tables and chairs are sanitized, and I have never had complaints about the cleanliness of the place.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. When my party and I visited, the servers were very attentive. They also made great recommendations on what to order. The bartender is well trained and great at his job. This makes the bar a great place to wait for your table at. Our server checked up on the table multiple times throughout the meal to make sure everything was great. That is one of the things that impressed me the most, that everyone treats you like you are the only person there.

The food is delicious. The menu has tons of options, from seafood to steak. Everything that comes out of their kitchen is professionally prepared. I have had both the filet mignon, and the prime bone-in strip. They were some of the best steaks I have ever had. All of the food of the people in my party was up to the same standard. Some of these items were the lobster bisque, the Barringer’s truffle burger, and the classic fish fry. Overall, this food is some of the best in Door County.

With top-of-the-line cleanliness, a great staff team, and delicious food, Barringer’s is one of the best restaurants in Fish Creek. The restaurant is almost spotless, and looks really nice on the inside and out. With three floors you can be sure that it will not get too loud. The staff is really friendly, and all of them are well trained. The food is amazing. There are also a ton of options on their menu. Barringer’s is one of my favorite...

Short Story: We had our wedding reception at Barringer’s, and it was the best decision we could have made.

Long Story: My husband and I met Cindy and JR while we were searching for a wedding venue in Door County. After a weekend of driving around the area, we were both tired and a little deflated because we hadn’t found “the spot” and it was time for us to leave. Luckily, Rob convinced me to make one last stop at Barringer's. Cindy and JR took the time to sit down with Rob and I, even though they were trying to open for the night and they told us about what our weekend could look like if they were a part of it. From that moment on, they took care of us -- making sure every detail was perfect. Cindy was so helpful, giving me guidance and assuring me we could bring my vision to life, and JR delivered a menu for both Friday and Saturday night that our friends and family are still talking about.

For our Friday welcome dinner, JR and team drove their food truck across the peninsula and served up an incredible lakeside meal right from the truck! Aside from the food being better than I could have imagined, the staff was friendly and attentive. They brought all dinnerware with them and took everything away making it easy to focus on hosting our guests.

Our reception at Barringer's on Saturday was above and beyond anything we could have imagined. They were extremely accommodating, even when myself and friends showed up during lunch hour to decorate the dining space. Everything was set up according to plan, and Dustin (the manager) made me feel confident that Saturday night would be everything I wanted. Everything was perfect. All of our guests came up to us at some point in the evening raving about how beautiful the space was and how much they loved the food.

I truly cannot thank Cindy, JR, Dustin, Deanna and the entire staff enough for the weekend, it was beyond whatever prior expectations we may have had. Barringer’s will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we will be back for lunch and dinner every time we are in...
