I wish I could share a positive experience but I don't have anything good to say. I'm not sure who took my initial order but I had put in a request for a simple cake to surprise my sister and BIL on their first wedding anniversary. I was told over the phone what the price would be and that I would be hearing back that same day via email for the official quote. I didn't hear back. No big deal, I gave it about two days and called back, with someone different letting me know there was nothing in the system regarding my order and that she'd connect with the owner and would be giving me a call. Never heard anything so I called AGAIN, spoke to the same lady again and just told her that if they can't do the order for whatever reason, that's fine, just let me know so I can contact another bakery. She apologized and told me again that she would relay this to the owner and that she herself would personally give me a call later that day. Never heard another thing from her or anyone as this bakery. After being ghosted by them and following up multiple times, I never once received a call back or email like they promised. Ended up contacting a different bakery and they were incredibly helpful, they understood why I had to put in a last minute order and were able to accommodate. Not only that, the cake was a specialty cake and still was half the price I was quoted at Go Frost Yourself. I don't like to leave negative reviews but unfortunately this experience was not good all around, was incredibly stressful when it really didn't need to be, and put me in a tough situation. There were so many opportunities to contact me and simply communicate and they never once did. I do not...
Read moreBEST BAKERY IN ROCHESTER!!!! I cannot believe I havenât reviewed sooner but OMG I swear I will forever be a GFY Stan! First and foremost: your tastebuds will thank you for gracing them with anything from Go Frost Yourself. Obviously the cinnamon rolls are heaven sent. But so is everything else. Their tres leches cake they have in the case sometimes is one of the best Iâve ever had- so moist and delicious. Their cookies are always chefs kiss. Their cupcakes are consistently delicious treats. They are filled and always fun combinations (chocolate raspberry will alwaysss be my fav). Their scones are huge-100% a must try. Donât get me started on their rice crispy treats- I donât know what they do different but my oh my I think about those things at least 5 times a week. Also, theyâre extremely talented when it comes to custom cakes. I had my bridal shower cake made by them (of course) and it was simply beautiful! Check out their insta for great inspo for kids cakes and other unique designs.
Their pre-order options for holidays are a must. Their pies are unreal (obviously). Their apple crumb and their peanut butter are my top favs.
On top of everything being soooo TASTY, the owners have become some of my favorite people. They are powerhouses! Kind, hardworking, dedicated to their craft, and just overall good people you want to see succeed.
I promise I wasnât paid to write this review- I just go hard for places I love and Go Frost Yourself is at the top of that list. Give them a try, you will...
Read moreI went here to mainly to look around and see what they had as I have never been. A lot of bakeries when you go in smell very sweet and not of baked goods. I was pleasantly surprised that it smelled like cinnamon rolls and wasn't overly sweet. The space itself is small and has no room for tables and a very small area for merch items. There are 2 display cases and you order mainly through the cashier who was very bubbly and honest when they did not know where each flavor was for every item and was quick to ask the bakers without any promting. The atmosphere was very kind and welcoming with a mix of patience while i asked many questions about the cupcakes and where the flavors were as they were not the normal vanilla with chocolate frosting but usually 3 flavors combined. I personally bought 4 cupcakes; red velvet ganache, walnut whiskey, death by chocolate, and chocolate raspberry almond. to be perfectly honest i have not tried the death by chocolate yet but the other 3 were all filled cupcakes and tasted amazing. Personal favorite being the chocolate raspberry as uaually the jam is way too sweet to be enjoyed on its own or not very noticable with the rest of the cupcake, but this place made it a delight to eat no matter what the ratio was. There is a discount for UR employees and a loyalty program you can join though i am unsure if there is a cost. overall a wonderful experience and I will defenitely stop by again when...
